Nice overall setting. Good sized spaces. Staff helpful. Upper restroom and showers not as well maintained as lower area. Many hiking trails both along river or up into dry country. Dog friendly. No runs but plenty of trails. There is a city run nearby.

Everything you need from a camp ground. spacious and hook ups, sani dump of the way out. good bunch of lakes to run around and a short drive to town. safe for the kids to play and is only a 30min drive to the ghost town which is worth a trip.

Stayed here for 3 nights in October. We tent camped in the Blackhawk Loop site 116. Beautiful wide open site, not shaded but it has a great overlook of the surrounding town and mountains. Clean bathhouse with hot showers and hot water at the sink. Quick drive to Sedona. 15$ a night, very reasonable.

We rented one of the State Park Cabins (can rent them through the AZ State Parks Website) for a couple of nights. The first thing you need to realize is that these are very rustic cabins, definitely a few steps above "roughing it" for camping (we did not want to pack the tent); this is NOT a 2 or ever... More

Great campground all round. We were in an RV. Fast booking over the phone, easy and friendly. Stopped in Quail loop - Hosts - very welcoming, shade, facilities clean. Book swop facility much used. Close to cottonwood old town so eating out always an option. Lots of trails and walking to be done (though beware of cyclists as they DON'T... More

We camped at the Quail camp sites which had lots of trees even though we were tent camping. You pay a little more for this site compared to the tent camping sites but well worth it. Nice showers and restrooms and they were clean and the showers hot.

This is a great campsite. We stayed in Quail Loop. Don't stay in the other loop on the north side of the park. On the north loop the camps are very close together and basically no trees. It's hot most of the time in Cottonwood so the trees are a must. There are a ton of hiking and biking trails.... More

I wanted to take my 9 year old daughter and 13 year old son riding. My daughter is crazy about horses and it was supposed to be a special treat but parents beware!!! In 94 degree heat one of the ranch hands said that my daughter should not stop for 5 mins in the shade to have a drink, even though... More
