We have stayed several times at this lodge and definitely would go back. For Alaska, these accommodations are very adequate. The food is like home style cooking with big portion sizes and very good food. We mostly enjoy the hospitality of the owners. You won't find better people in Alaska.

My room was pretty spartan, two twin beds and an average sized bathroom. The front deck is great for sitting amongst a nice garden, that overlooks the front parking lot. The lodge walls are full of interesting artwork and photographs. Overall, it is a pretty simple place -- however nothing "wrong" with it. Dining is cafeteria style in one room... More

Stayed there for an night after spending 3 nights at the cabin in Anan bay.Picked it because of price and the availability of dinner The hotel itself was serviceable but utilitarian. With the exception of the extensive garden outside there was not much charm. Not much of a view of the harbor either. My room was the strangest I had ever been... More

Hard to walk to town from here. Meals at the hotel were good. Transportation provided from airport and to ferry. This wouldn't be my first choice if I return to Wrangell. We enjoyed the place but felt there may be better alternatives for the price.

This was my third trip to this establishment this year due to business. Once again, I can't find a bad thing to say regarding my stay! Bruce and Darlene have a property in which memories are made. Their hospitality is world class, room was quiet, and immaculate. If you decide to stay for a dinner, the meals are what you... More

We stayed at the Sourdough in July, making it our base camp for Wrangell-area adventures and we were extremely pleased with our stay! - immaculate rooms - Really nice complimentary continental breakfasts (the juice is fantastic!) - Private, secure location - Knowledgeable and helpful hosts - shuttle service - laundry available - large rooms and suites available for large families... We stayed at the Alaskan Sourdough Lodge in early September after canoeing down the Stikine River for 12 days. We were in a huge room with a king size bed with quilts and a twin which we didn't need in an alcove of the room. The bathroom had two shower stalls, two toilets and two sinks! Plenty of hot water!... More

We were fortunate to find Bruce and Darlene Harding's lodge in Wrangell, and lucky that they were offering a three night special that included a visit to the AnAn bear viewing. The three of us, my husband and me and our grandson, 12, were in a very large room with a kingsize bed and a twin in an alcove of... More

What a treasure to find!! Amazing rooms, unbelievable dinners! A few places to stay in town, but hands-down... The place to be. Husband and wife owned property who will go out of their way to make sure that your stay is wonderful. Immaculate grounds, the most amazing gardens outside. Highly recommend!

My wife and I stayed at the Sourdough Lodge on a recent fishing trip to Wrangell. Bruce picked us up at the airport, gave us a quick tour of Wrangell before arriving at the Lodge. Our room had a comfortable king size bed and was very clean. The meals were very delicious and more than enough food for even the... More
