The Agate Inn is owned by a geologist and his wife. Every room is decorated with beautiful one of a kind fossils or geological curiosities. Our room had amazing 100,000 year old fossils called Ammonites. The rooms are the most energy efficient that I have seen in Alaska. Thick insulated walls and the direct vent fireplace add quiet warmth and... more

I was in town working for a week (outside the whole time) and it was so nice to come back to a comfortable room and relax. The bed and chair was comfortable, the fire place was perfect and I basically never wanted to leave once I got in from work. Great place to enjoy a vacation or a working trip... more

My husband and I just married and heading to Chena Hot Springs for our honeymoon. While Chena was great, the Agate Inn was a highlight of our trip. The rooms at the Agate Inn were the best I've ever stayed in. The clean, organized, and efficient layout was homey and comfortable. The built in gas fireplace provided all the heat... more

The Wasilla Agate Inn is not just a place to stay, but an experience. The Inn itself is situated near town, but hidden away in a little wood. But the biggest reason it is such an attraction is because of the Reindeer Farm that the owners, Sandy and Harvey Bowers, have on the property. They not only offered, but encouraged... more

This was a wonderful Inn/B&B. The staff was fantastic and the room was amazing! The place is a little out of the way, but definately worth it! more

Searched & found: A nice, peaceful, clean hotel, with all you might need, incl. a whirlpool in the bathroom. Very friendly staff, helpful - you will feel at home at once ... and if you like, you can help feeding their reindeer in the park next to the hotel twice a day. And they do not have red noses, but... more

Our group of five (2 grandparents and 3 teenagers) really enjoyed our two night stay at the Agate Inn. We were on the first floor of a fourplex with two bedrooms and a bath plus a kitchen and living room. Everything was was clean and attractive, with plenty of towels in the linen cabinet. The kitchen was fully stocked with... more

We stayed the night in Wasilla on the way to Denali Park. The only bad thing I can say was the cloud of mosquitoes that surrounded our car as soon as we stopped. Regrettably, the same hungry mosquitoes prevented us from taking a morning walk in the beautiful neighborhood. We received a gorgeous two-bedroom apartment on the second floor, with... more

We had an overnight stay one rainy night. We inadvertently forgot to return the normal sized room key (no special key chain or anything). When we returned home in three weeks, having been out of contact with phone and internet, we found ranting and raving on our email from her and that she had charged our Master Card $50.00 for... more

We stayed in the 3 bedroom unit. We were pleasantly surprised. The bedrooms were a nice size. There was a large TV room with reclining couch and lazyboy chair. Everything in the unit looked fairly new & modern. Full size kitchen with table. For breakfast they left an assortment of muffins, cereal, oatmeal, milk and juice & loaf of bread.... more
