We stayed at Hillside Cabins for 4 nights and had a very pleasant stay. The cabin had a full kitchen and access to a hot tub. There were sufficient supplies (salt, pepper, etc.) and a full size refrigerator with ice maker, a sofa, table and chairs as well as a front and back porch. It was quiet at night, and about 5 miles out of town. It is a duplex, so there may be someone next door, but that didn't bother us when we did have neighbors. We used it as a base for a drive to Hatcher Pass and Independence Mine, also a 1/2 day trip to Talkeetna and views of Mt. Denali along the way. We spent a day at the State Fair in Palmer and visited the Ididarod Headquarters and stopped in at Wasilla's Farmer's Market and their museum. For us the location was nearly perfect, but then we weren't looking for great nightlife! more

Another memorable to trip to host vacation bible school in a remote indian village. Our journey started in Anchorage with shopping for supplies. Traveled to Tok via the Glenn HWY. Tok is a quaint little town with nice little shops and great, affordable food at Fast Eddies. During our week long VBS we dealt with Higher than usual temperatures ( mid to high 90s)and numerous wild fires. From there we traveled to Wasilla where we spent 2 nights at Hillside cabins. The cabins were nicely kept, affordable and convienently located just minutes off the Parks Hwy. we took a day trip to Talkeetna, a small town about an hour north. well worth checking out. Great shopping and activities. we choose Mahays riverboat service for a 2 hour jet boat ride with a naturalist, guide. It was enjoyed by all.
