Robe Lake is about six miles into town just north of Valdez. The lake is quite off from the main road, but it was designated. There were city workers with bulldozer repairing the road, so we can't get any closer to the lake. We have to leave our car on the sideway and walk to the lake There is a... More

I reserved a room at the lodge and arrived late, around 7pm. The lodge is actually the home of the owners who move out during the season and stay in a very small house behind the lodge. As the lodge is filled with their personal effects and is obviously used by them during the day, this accommodation is actually not... More

It's hard to not come off cheesy when describing my stay at Robe Lake Lodge. It has picturesque views, a rustic attitude, an exactly perfect location when it comes to convenience in and out of Port Valdez Harbor/Valdez Airport, and a dining experience to make anyone's taste buds do backflips. The part I don't think you will typically find in... More

Why would you stay in a sardine can in the harbor when you can be in a beautiful setting in a nice lodge? This is definitely where I'm staying when I'm in the Valdez area. The owners are the real deal Alaskan dream.

This was my third year riding with Black Ops, but my first year staying at Robe Lake Lodge. I was thoroughly impressed with my stay there and appreciated how they made us feel like part of their family. I stayed in the main lodge and felt rejuvenated with the comfortable rooms and amazing meals. The chef, Bridget, is a Mom... More

Lovely setting on Robe Lake. Lodge style accommodations with shared bath, kitchen & living area. Private bedrooms & loft area. Continental breakfast with great selection from bagels & muffins to cereal & fresh fruit.

There are many positive reviews and I guess it depends what you are in for. As such there is no service. You get a room assigned via self check in and you can help yourself with everything in the kitchen. The living room is for all guests. The bedroom is very small and you share a bathroom. So if you... this is a hard review to write because there are 3 levels of accommodation on a small property. If you can get one of the 2 upstairs rooms (5,6), they are nice. they do share a bathroom. downstairs are 4 more rooms that share a small bathroom with a toilet and shower and a sign that says:" Friends don't flush... The log house is beautiful, the common area is very spacious and it has stunning views of Robe Lake. The kitchen was stocked with basic continental breakfast items which was fine. We stayed downstairs in one of their four small rooms and we shared one bathroom with ten people. It was a bit awkward. If visiting Valdez and you would... More

Beautiful lakefront lodge minutes from Valdez! Post and beam log home construction is amazing! Plentiful breakfast items, comfy beds, peaceful views from the back deck, and a delightful owner made our visit special!
