We stayed here at the suggestion of a travel agent. I was here to scuba dive and wanted to avoid the crowded conditions at Sharm and Hurghada. There is an in-house dive operation that caters to English speaking divers. . My wife and daughter do not dive but there was enough to keep them entertained for our five day stay.... more

At first i was reluctant to go to Eygpt due to some horror stories people tell you about food hygiene or having a dodgy stomach but i gave it a go and i was pleased with the food. i particularly find it difficult as i have a wheat free diet but there was a lot to choose from and the... more

Wow what can I say. Just back from 7 days total relaxation. Hotel superb, bedrooms excellent, food very good. I am not a diver but did go out on the boat for one day very good. Egypt currency rate is higher at the bank at the marina than in uk or at hotel. Water taxi to beach very enjoyable, beach... more

This is a fairly new hotel in the middle of a very large leisure development site (although there is very little development taking place at the moment). Our room was large, the aircon worked well, the bathroom was good etc. No problems at all with it other than there was no lift in the building so everything is carried up... more

We stayed at the Marino Lodge with our scubadiving club. The hotel is just excellent. It's clean, the food is good, the service is very good. The hotel looks very nice. The rooms are good, not to much luxury. Port Ghalib is a bit more "alive" but still has a (very) long way to go. If you're not a diver,... more

We got back from Marina Lodge about 3 weeks ago. We found a great deal and stayed for 2 weeks. The staff are very friendly, even the quiet ones. Once you start talking to them. We got to know a few of the staff quite well. Our deal was half board. We did not think we needed all inclusive as... more

Staff were helpful, the room was large-ish and comfortable, the pool/restaurant/bar facilities seemed nice, no complaints really. Well only one- we got two single beds rather than a double but they made them up as one bed when asked. The hotel, indeed all of Port Ghalib resort, felt quite relaxed and empty, it seemed to be far below capacity. This... more

Marina Lodge has a great deal to offer. It's only 10-15 minutes from the airport, yet undisturbed by airplane noise; its atmosphere and style are relaxed and unpretentious; it has a well-known dive operation onsite (see below), with its own quay where the dayboats dock overnight; the buffet serves a good variety of local and European food; and the bar... more
