Having been together for 13 years, my fiancé and I had a very clear idea of how we wanted our wedding to be and the type of venue that we wanted; small, relaxed, unpretentious but still chic and luxurious – and the key ingredient, excellent food. From the minute we arrived at Llys Meddyg we knew we had found ‘the... More

What a fantastic weekend! A very warm welcome was recieved to the hotel, all staff very helpful and pleasant. Razor Clam foraging was an excellent experience, something we'd not done before. Ed was a great teacher during the foraging and we had some lovely lunch back at the hotel, followed by a short walk in the surrounding area where Ed... More

A dinner for two in the restaurant will typically exceed £100 and the food will include interesting visual jokes, which the water will explain solemnly. An example is a single chip decorated with fish roe as an illusion to fish and chips. Not a bad chip, bit a bit lonely.

Just had a really great weekend at this charming hotel. The attention to detail is lovely, from the original paintings on the walls to the fresh milk in the fridge in the bedroom. The owners are helpful and recommended walking routes and places to visit. The restaurant and bar serve excellent food that is tastey and original. I would come... More

What a great 48 hours, we booked in on December 31st and left on January 2nd. How could the serve dinner to 40+ people simultaneously on News Year Eve and maintain quality - by serving a wonderful tasting menu. After this meal we repaired to the cellar bar where hysterical "Welsh Girl Sings" Emilly Davies (http://welshgirlsings.co.uk/) entertained us. The service... More

On arrival we were greeted by the father of one of the owners, who was very friendly. We waited in the shabby lounge while he answered another query, then he showed us to our room. It was quite large, with a large bathroom. The duvet on the bed had seen better days - it was clumpy with thick and thin,... More

We have just returned from a most wonderful stay at this little gem. The food was divine and I loved the attention to sense of place detail - mini Welsh cakes, Melin Tregwynt bed throws and Myddfai toiletries . We will definitely be back and will recommend to friends.

We recently had our wedding reception at Llys Meddyg and have been completely overwhelmed by the incredible service and attention to detail every member of staff provided for us, our family and guests. After an 11am Winter wedding we were greeted by hot mulled cider and canapes in the main house before moving into the beautifully decorated garden room for... More

Stayed here in October half term 2014 with our 3 children, 2 dogs, 1 x sister/auntie & 2 x grandparents. We had the rooms at the back of the hotel which were perfect for us all plus one in the main house. All rooms were to a high standard & suitable for individuals needs. The owners very accommodating and relaxed.... More
