We went to the Sauvage as the last destination of our honeymoon and I can't think of a better way to end our wonderful trip. Michael and his wife (and of course the adorable little pup Yoshi) were wonderful hosts and cooked delicious food! We went on day trips with Michael that were as if we were the only ones... more

DAY 1: Wake up in a cozy Tahitian Bungalow on a Pristine Deserted Island to the Sounds of nothing but waves lightly crashing on a distant reef. Walk outside to view nothing but beautiful sunlight shining on pure white and pink sands and endless miles of calm crystal clear and aqua blue lagoon waters. Breakfast on fresh fruits, fruit juices,... more

I travel to 4 and 5 star hotels but i also enjoy going back to basics. I think service and attention to detail are important. Maybe my review is biased as i have previously done a Robinson Crusoe experience on Wilson Island on the Barrier Reef in OZ, so i have something to compare KOS with. The 4 days at... more

Ok, let me start by saying I love super lux hotels, I hate camping and I love having the royal treatment during my holidays. Bare in mind that before the Sauvage, which was our last stop in our honeymoon, we were at the St Regis in Bora Bora, which means we were really spoilled there! Now, the Sauvage: how come... more

Unbelievable, perfect honeymoon ! Wish I booked it for at least 5 nights instead of 4, the place is amazing and the hosts Michelle and his wife make it fun and unforgettable. Don't go if you can't leave without cell phone or tv and if you're very picky about food, there is no night life but what else do you... more

Or vacation to Tahiti consisted of completely off-the-beaten-path locations and this spot definitely took the cake. We loved every minute of our stay at Sauvage, and other than taking a day to scuba at the main hotel, would have come directly here for our entire stay in Rangiroa. The man who helps run the island is named Bernard, and he... more

The Kia Ora Savauge was the best!!!!!!!! Complete privacy (only 5 bungalows, not fully booked during our stay), the meals incredible (thanks to Mahini) and nightly stars amazing. Our host Bernard entertained us with stories of his many travels and of the islands. No electricity, no cell phones, no computers!!! Afternoon excursions to other motus, etc... available if you wished... more

The name you book under is the Kia Ora Sauvage, but make no mistake, this is Michael’s Island. On such a small island with so few fellow guests, the host makes all the difference, and Michael is, well, it’s hard to imagine a better possible host. He orchestrates the daily activities (which for us were a perfect mix of enough... more

We spent 3 nights here on our honeymoon during which we spent time on other Islands, but this place is incredible, picture heaven on earth and then you have an idea what I mean, it takes 1 hour by boat to reach the "Sauvage" from its sister hotel the Kia Ora on Rangiroa where you must stay for one night,... more

The Kia Ora Sauvage is about the furthest you can get from your ringing cell phone and e-mail account, which is something that is rare and precious. We stayed there for four nights on our honeymoon and booked through Tahiti Legends (which I highly recommend). We had wonderful hosts (Bernard & Mahine), who made delicious food (I never eat fish... more
