Stayed 8 nights in Tara Beach bungalow#52, it was heaven redefined. A big sitting room, a stunning bathroom & a comfortable bedroom with a great view. We enjoyed a large wooden patio, overlooking the most beautiful lagoon that redefined the color blue. We had a hammock that I stargazed on every night. The breakfast at the restaurant was superb, a... more

This is our second trip to French Polynesia (did Bora Bora, Moorea and Tahaa) so we can compare. Kia Ora is at the higher price for a 3 star resort, but since they are alone in Rangiroa... they can charge. It is a pretty nice hotel but it needs upgrading, and the food is not good (average by all standards).... more

We stayed here for 2 nights on our Honeymoon having spent time already on Moorea and Bora Bora and prior to spending 2 nights at Kia Ora Sauvage. I have to admit that I picked this place because: (1) we were going to stay at Kia Ora Sauvage so might as well stick with the Kia Ora family and (2)... more

We had a suite for 4 around 5m from the beach with jacuzzi, hammock and beach chairs - great set up. The hotel is nice, with nice landscape and great food. We are divers, and in the hotel they have a diving club (which we did not use) and few diving clubs next to the hotel (we used the TopDive... more

The blue lagoon of Rangiroa is simply spectacular. This island is so different to Bora Bora and Moorea that it is definitely worth a visit. Having said that, Hotel Kia Ora is really the best hotel in town. Yes, its rooms need updating. However, the food is excellent. The staff are extremely friendly. It feels like a family run hotel... more

Stay away is my advise to anyone planning a visit to this insect infested, totally overpriced place. We had high hopes for our, even for French Polynesia standards, expensive 4-night stay at one of Kia Ora’s Garden Bungalows. We were bitten many times within minutes after retiring for the first night. The insects were so aggressive that we asked to... more

We spend 2 weeks in July (11-25) in French Polynesia and visited 3 islands: Rangiroa (Kia Ora), Moorea (Hilton) and Bora-Bora (Four Seasons). I will post corresponding reviews for each hotel within a week. Before I start with a hotel description, please let me add a general comment regarding weather and seasons in FP. We were in July. Though we... more

Staying at Kia Ora was the best we could do after staying in Tahiti, Bora Bora and Moorea. Rangiroa itself is a tiny sweet island, thats what we thought off thinking "French Polynesia". Kia Ora Hotel is a quite and calm oasis. If you are looking for relaxation - this is your spot. We had an overwater bungalow and Fishfeeding... more

We spent five nights at the Kia Ora - three nights in a beach front bungalow and two nights in an over the water bungalow. And we enjoyed each and every minute that we were at the Kia Ora. We thought we would be bored but the five days went so quickly we were wishing for more. There were often... more

Beachfront villa with jacuzzi. Dark and dirty room with horrible foam pillows on bed and sofa. Unheated jacuzzi, no room service but plenty of cockroaches! The staff are poorly trained and don't care about anything. The food is poor and hugely overpriced (compared with great resorts in Bora Bora). The F&B manager tries but he is alone! We came here... more
