Perfect location, perfect bungalows, free use of bikes in excellent condition. Spotless, great kitchen and bbq area. Very social and good place to meet other travellers. The bungalows have a great mosquito net which is essential. Jacques the owner will help you sort out anything you need. He even did our washing for us which was very needed. Jacques likes... More

more like a hostel environment. Small but clean bungalows, close to the ocean, shared kitchen, european breakfast (fresh bread and jams) FREE BIKES! nice host. free wifi, mosquito netting over beds. Basic but adequate. Four shared bathrooms on property, with showers.

This very efficient 'pension' is not on the beach and this is why maybe it costs less than Others, but given that Polynesia is so expensive, Jacques' bungalows are clean, nice and well organized. The shared bathrooms are always impeccable, and the water is warm, which is not Always the case around here. Plus, you have bycicles and Wi-Fi included,... More

You get what is advertized. People complaining of camping facility, small cabins, sharing bathrooms or kitchen didn’t do their research before coming here. * No extra charge for pick up or drop off at the airport or where you are meeting your excursion or dive expedition if they don’t come to you * No extra charge for using bikes in... We spent one night there as a back-up solution, not being able to reach Raimiti, due to bad weather conditions (see my separate review on what happened with Raimiti if interested). The place is a campground with some bungalows 3x3 meters without bathroom inside, located pretty far from the lagoon on the ocean side. You can use the kitchen facilities... More

This is and excellent place to stay on Fakarava. All up we spent two weeks in French Polynesia and and of these two weeks we spent 5 nights at the Relais Marama. The only thing we regret is that we did not stay longer with Jacques and Daniel. The Relais is right in the village and literally two minutes away... More

We have spent 5 days in Fakarava and enjoyed our stay at Relais Marama very much. Owner Jacques was very friendly and welcoming. Bungalows are set in a spacious garden that is well kept. There is a nice cool breeze coming from the ocean. Breakfast is baguette with butter and jam, coffee & tea. There is a very well equipped... More

Just back from a great time in FP. Relais Marama was the last place that I stayed. Clean, comfortable and ideal for independent travellers (met a few others there that I didn't find elsewhere in FP). Not ideal for those looking for luxury spas, swimming pools, fine dining, concierge (although Jacques can sort most things out on the island), bell... More

Jacques, the owner has done a fantastic job with the Marama. It delivers great value (for Polynesia) and includes many of the things that are important: - Well spaced bungalows - Comfy beds and good size mossie nets - Plenty of well serviced bikes - Well thought out self catering facilities (or order by 5pm and get a good dinner... Fab location and a great host. Another last minute booking for me as I attempt to meet up with some friends on a boat. Having secured a flight from Tahiti I set about trying to find a bed for the night in Fakarava. I emailed Relais Marama and received a prompt response from Jacques offering room and transfer. When my... More
