We went to Bora Bora in the low season. 1st week of April 2014. Le Maitai was great, and added bonus it is owned by Polynesians not corporate fat cats in Paris or the US. The reception staff was great. Pora Porans are wonderful people. Always polite, calm, and laid back... I guess that's to be expected given they live... More

My husband and I just returned from spending five days in an over-water bungalow at Hotel Maitai. We could not have been more pleased. Their prices, compared to other and more ""American" resorts are very good. The design of the hotel and the landscaping could not be nicer. I did a lot of research before settling on the Maitai. As... More

My husband and I recently stayed here in an overwater bungalow! We feel like we had the best bungalow We were over coral. We snorkeled with the fish everyday of our stay! It was beautiful! I stayed up late at night and got up during the night to look down through the glass to see the fish and eels swimming... More

Look no farther! It is the best hotel on the island for your money. My husband and I spent our honeymoon there in March, 2014. This is a wonderful hotel. It is not very big, which makes is very romantic. It is run by a local lady who really cares about this place. We felt very welcomed and we will... More

Loved this place, right on the beach, lovely apartment (Not many TV channels) Lovely walk in shower and the best bit is its great value!. One of the best value places in Bora Bora, Free Kayaks which we made the most of. A tour desk so they can arrange day trips. There is a supermarket with much cheaper food/drink options... More

Upon arrival in Bora Bora and driving to the hotel, I was still doubting if i should have upgraded to another hotel, like the Intercontinental or some other big chain, But upon arrival at the Hotel Matai, I was so glad i hadn't, this place just felt perfect. A welcome drink and a quick talk about the place and then... More

The MaiTai Bora Bora was a very pleasant stay. We chose one of the over water bungalows, room 104. It was just right for snorkeling from the deck. The water was about chest height so we didn't feel out of our depth right away. We built up the small reef under our bungalow from just a few stones by collecting... More

We found the overwater bungalows to be wonderful, the private docks were great and the glass opening to view the fish was a great touch. The restaurant service in all restaurants there seemed very slow but we soon learned that was Polynesia and not to expect any different. Everyone at the hotel was really nice and more than willing to... More

If you've never been to Bora Bora let ye be forewarned, it's expensive... Hotel MaiTai is the best bang for your buck around. Great rooms, nice staff and a good location. Good place to make your home base on the island!

We stayed at Hotel Maitai in early November and stayed in a garden room for a few days then an overwater bungalow for another 5 days. Both rooms were clean and spacious. It was great value and within walking distance to cafes, Matira Beach and a coupe of supermarkets in either direction. The breakfast was a pleasant surprise with a... More
