My husband and I stayed at the Sofitel Marara for 5 days/4 nights for our honeymoon in the middle of June 2009, and were more than pleased with just about every aspect of the hotel. The resort is not one of the most expensive (go to the hotels on the motus to spend big bucks), but treats guests like royalty... more

We stayed at the Sofitel in March 2008 for 5 nights as part of our Honeymoon. I must say, Bora Bora completely exceeded our expectations - is really is paradise. We loved the island. We stayed in a beach bungalow (#11) and were very pleased with all aspects of our accommodation. The staff were extremely helpful and friendly and made... more

We were told that the Sofitel had been updated. We went with friends and had a great time - but only because we were there with friends. People tend to stay by themselves. It is very difficult to make friends there. Our beach-front bungelows were very nice. The beach was great. But...the food was absolutely horrible - it was under-cooked... more

We were disappointed in our stay at the Sofitel Bora Bora Beach Resort. The service was VERY slow, even by Polynesian standards. The food at the restaurant was average at best and the rooms were very close to the road and we could hear road noise well into the night. It looked nice but that was about it. I would... more

My husband and I stayed at the Sofitel Bora Bora Beach Resort for two nights of our honeymoon -- and I'm so glad that our stay at the resort wasn't any longer. After spending six nights in an overwater bungalow in Moorea at the Pearl, the Sofitel paled in comparison. We went into our stay at the Sofitel with low... more

Stayed at the Sofitel for 3 nights on our honeymoon. I wouldn't recommend the meal plan, it's all buffet, hardly recognizeable. The view is amazing, we stayed in a Deluxe Garden Bungalow #15, it had a view of the beach and was quiet. The pool was beautiful. THE SPA WAS AMAZING!! Simply put the best hour we spent on Bora... more

We went to this location after a very nice stay in Moorea. From the plane, the island looked amazing! once we arrived at the resort, a different story unraveled! The resort is old and it looks its age. We stayed at the main one, not the Motu one which is nicer, if you can get it there is better! Accommodations:... more

Good: - snorkeling: we had an overwater bungalow and were able to see plenty of fish through the glass panel on the floor and even more fish when swimming just off the bunaglow. bring some bread with you from breakfast to feed the fish then jump in with your snorkel and mask! - teppanyaki table at wakaba had the best... more

We (me and my 13 years old daughter) stayed in this hotel between 16 and 23 March, 2008. Although I reserved and paid for Garden-View Deluxe bungalow, first night we spended in Garden-View Superior bungalow. Argument of hotel staff - in Deluxe bungalow we haven't two separate beds. Superior bungalow No. 37 seems us old, tired and ugly. Toilet and... more
