The view of Mt McKinley was unparalleled from the main lodge & outdoor viewing deck. We appreciated the free shuttle service into town which allowed us to walk about the quaint little town taking in the historical museum; have dinner ; visit shops ; get to our flight-seeing the next day and enjoy a big breakfast in town. The room was... They run a free shuttle service from the railroad depot, and to downtown, which is a great help. Arriving on the railroad, our luggage was taken direct to our rooms for us, although when it hadn't arrived 45 minutes after we did, I chased it up at reception, and our bags turned up five minutes later. When we left the... More

Gorgeous view of Denali! We were lucky enough to see it unobstructed. Large viewing deck was wonderful. Rooms clean and bed comfortable. No A/C but we had a nice breeze with the window open. Shuttle service to downtown Talkeetna. Nice little town, we only had a 1 night stay but will come back here for a longer stay next time.... More

This place is beautiful and a great place to stay. The hotel staff are great! The views are beautiful and trails to walk on but be aware there are mosquitoes. They had a ceremony for veterans when time to retire the American flag and a presentation by a park ranger regarding climbing Mt. McKinley (Denali). Talkeetna is a cute little... More

I will start out by saying that there is not a lot of choice in Talkeetna, so I would try to make it a day trip and not stay over. As mentioned, there is no air-conditioner, we were put in a building with no ice machine and no elevator, and was not advised of this ahead of time. Plus it... More

Janet G Thank you for your feedback. From your description I can see that you stayed in our Guest Lodge buildings. The guest lodges are situated 150 yard from the main lodge, however these buildings do have Ice machines and we do offer shuttle service to the main lodge upon request. Please keep in mind that these rooms are significantly... More

This place was awesome. Stayed here as part of our cruisetour/land package. The views were stunning (until the rainstorm came thru, and even that was beautiful). Rooms were spacious and comfortable. No AC, but that didn't matter because it was plenty cool outside. Limited menu options, slow service and so-so food.

Family of four stayed here as part of a land package and we were extremely impressed with the quality and beauty of this Lodge. We had a breathtaking mountain view room with two queen size beds. The room was very simple, clean and spacious. The beds were very comfortable. There were two fans but we did not need to use... More

We were at the end of of 2 week tour of Alaska and this was a beautiful hotel. We love the town too. But goodness no a/c. We were so hot we had to open the fridge and put fan in front to get air circulating

Friends booked a table for Dinner with our family. Party were therefore two children and four adults. Menu was quite limited, Service was quite slow and Steak was not cooked as requested twice, Duck was tough and not very pleasant. Additionally it did say on the menu that a tip would be automatically applied for parties of 6. Beware that... More

As part of a land/cruise tour of Alaska, we spent one night at the Talkeetna Alaskan Lodge. It was gorgeous! You could sit out on the back and deck and have a wonderful view of Mt McKinldy ( we were lucky enough to see it!) There are wonderful trails ( although bring your bug spray) and the restaurant, bar and... More
