Visited June 2015. Once you step out of airport of Weno, you enter... no, not a tropic paradise. not at all :) for unknown reason, this place looks like it just survived another war. No roads but directions. Houses? No, huts out of tin and palm leaves. So when you arrive after short (such a relief) trip by car to... More

I spent 12 days at the Truk Stop and 10 days diving with their associated dive shop. First, the hotel - it's a diver's hotel. It's not upscale but it was clean, had a comfortable bed and was air conditioned with a flat screen TV and WiFi available in the lobby (occasionally you can get it in your room but... More

I've been to several dive spots around the world, but nothing beats Truk (Chuuk). With some 60 Japanese WWII era wrecks covered in beautiful coral, you just won't see this anywhere else. The dive team is experienced and provides good background. Better to read up on the wrecks beforehand to appreciate what you're exploring. You'll enter a ship through a... More

Stayed there few days before boarding live aboard. Staff is very friendly and helpful. Room are very species but do not expect any luxury. Most important air condition is working, which is a must in this climate. Restaurant downstairs offers really great food for reasonable prices. Internet works probably the best in the entire island. Once you arrive they take... More

Disclaimer: I didn't stay in the hotel but I came here every day for either lunch or dinner and went on a snorkel tour from the TLDC. The hotel restaurant is one of best in Chuuk, nothing stands out as amazing food but the staff is very nice and the restaurant is very clean. They accept Visa and MC. I... More

If you are looking to dive the Truck Lagoon wrecks then this hotel and location are brilliant. The on-site dive centre is really professional and the equipment for rent is fine. It is a truly sensational dive site to go to! The attached hotel looks and feels like a 1960's motel, which needs to be renovated. However, just go with... More

The Truk Stop hotel is a 3 star hotel and a bit expensive for what you get but then there is not a lot of choice in Chuuck and if you are here for diving this is the place to stay. The hotel could do with some touching up and cleaning. The rooms are large although some of the furniture... More

We stayed here for a few days in December 2013. We had a great view, AC, good food and wonderful staff. If you find yourself in Chuuk, I recommend Truk Stop. It's well known for scuba diving, so some of our group did that while others just swam in the ocean. They have a small shop with fairly priced things.

We stayed at the Truk Stop after a weeks diving on the Odyssey. The disembarkation to the Truk Stop filled us with a slight apprehension as first impressions suggested a tip! This hotel is situated about a mile from the airport and has it's own seafront location with a pier that allows boats to depart for the various wreck sites.... More

Chuuk lagoon and its wreck dives are world famous, and if you are into heavy metal dives this places is paradise. The safety stops procedure seems over the top (2 mins at 18m, 3 mins at 9m and 10 mins at 5m) but better to be cautious and safe when doing repetitive deep dives. Even my Suunto computer had a...
