Lovely little motel with on site parking. Staff very friendly and helpful. No complaints at all about the room or facilities. Heater was amazing. Didn't use the kitchen as we were only there one night but would definitely stay again if staying longer. Hot breakfast was delicious and a good, large portion for only $15. Plenty of towels and pillows

Since we discovered that warm rooms can be hard to come by in certain areas of New Zealand in the winter time, it was so exciting to have a warm room in which we didn't have to wear just as many layers of clothes inside as we wore outside. The location is so perfect if you enjoy walking around. The... More

A need to visit Timaru to visit ailing family. This motel is very convenient to all amenities, comfortable, quiet despite being on the main thoroughfare and totally affordable. My studio had been refurbished with a very very comfortable bed. I arrived on a cold frosty night and the hosts had the heater cranked up so I walked in to a... More

I stayed in a studio unit. The room was very spacious with a nice bathroom and kitchenette. The bed was very comfortable and the room was warm and cosy. The fridge and microwave were very adequate, in fact everything was of a high order. The host was extremely friendly, a real touch of southern hospitality. The host even helped me... More

Good location for a one-night stop on our way back to Christchurch from the south. Off-street parking, but down a steep slope - practise hill starts! Friendly welcome with suggestions for a walking route into town. Unusually for a motel, it is quite central and we found it an easy walk. Clean and well-equipped.

This is a highway-side motel within walking distance of the beachside park and downtown Timaru. The motel room itself was large and clean, but basic. The bathroom was awkward, as it appeared that a shower had been installed after the room was built, making access to the sink crowded and difficult. The clerk was the most uncommunicative and woman of... More

Spacious room, well equipped, good value but some main some road noise from trucks. Unfortunately we had an indifferent welcome from a young duty receptionist who met us with a pained expression while getting out of a car before proceeding to the reception desk with an offhand attitude. Later, we were taken aback when this person banged loudly on our... More

Plenty of space to move around in the rooms, with a king-sized bed, well-fitted kitchen, spacious bathroom, and a verandah. All was clean and staff were helpful and welcoming. Slope to the units is a little steep, so take care in slippery weather.

We stayed one night here on our way to the Catlins. The motel is fine and very clean. Kitchen and bath were OK. The only real downside to the Townhouse is its daunting, very steep drive. Would not like to try to get up or down in bad weather. Staff was accommodating and very pleasant.

Very large and good quality. King sized bed was comfy with crisp, clean sheets. Nice kitchen facility. Very nice staff. Helpful. The one big drawback about this place is the parking situation. Down a steep hill and you really need to be parked backed in so that you can get out easily
