Very loud even being off the road could hear traffic and people in next door rooms talking could hear there toilet flushing there shower running. There where kids riding bikes and running around in main drive way of motel, it's a motel not a camping ground?? Everything was dated, wouldn't stay again or recommend

I was very dissapointed as I asked for a quiet room and alas there is no such thing at this place as the main road with all night trucks wizzing by at great speed are metres away! The sliding door is so old it rattles with the vibration of the noise which shut is just as loud as when open.... More

We booked online never staying here before, the owners were friendly helpful. The room was very clean and comfortable, with a huge comfy King bed. They showed us how to get to the beach and cafes. Will definitely stay again , price per night reasonable too.

Only motel with no vacancy on a cold winter evening, I took a risk at $95 for the night. This is a very dated motel, the welcome I got at reception was fantastic, however once I settled in I found this to be an expensive nights accommodation, I guess the old saying is you get what you pay for. The... More

Clean but old and dated needs a serious face lift. The thing that annoyed us the most was that they advertised free wi fi. What a laugh it was one of the most expensive exercises paying for it and they had the speed ramped up. Change your sign. We wont be back.

We chose this place at the last minute for a quick stopover en-route to Christchurch. There wasn't many rooms left in Timaru that night so we just grabbed what was available. The family room we got was very comfortable, well equipped and quiet, nothing exceptional, but we were very happy for the price we paid and the owners were very... More

A very average motel... Located on state highway one... The room is very dated and tired, however the Bed was comfortable. The ironing board was interesting (see photo) Yes there is road noise and lots of it... I was kept away to late and then woken up to truck changing gear down the hill. Parking was at a premiums and... More

The Homestead Lodge is a great little place to stay. It has everything you need and is close to everything that Timaru has to offer. The hosts are super friendly and if you are travelling on business they will give you enough wifi to cover you usage.

The couch was sagging when you sat on it the noise from the road traffic made it hard to sleep and woke you up early and once you parked your car the space was limited in which to turn around or you just had to back out onto the road into traffic. The room was clean and warm but the... More

Stayed one night here on our way to Tekapo. The units are dated, but tidy. Thought $110 per night (without a kitchen) was a little OTT, especially when we compared it to the great motel unit we got at Oamaru the next night for $115. We were well back from the road but our sleep was disturbed all night by... More
