This motel is clean but is old and needs a significant overhaul. Customer service was not great and in fact a little 'confrontational'. Upon arrival our room was cold, management did not bother to heat the room even though they knew we were coming and it was a cold day! There are so many negative things I could say about... More

This motel owner is a nut job! We booked this motel through booking.com , the owner emailed my husband and I calling us dim for booking via the internet as we paid 12% . We stayed 4 nights and booked a one bed room apartment with two beds. The first night he gave us milk (In NZ it is the... More

We are visitng for a sporting event. The unit we have is on the road with very little road noise. Units are basic but fully equipped, all you need to bring is food. Rooms are quite dated but very clean and really reasonably priced! Great central location, close to supermarket etc.Very nice management! Would definitely stay again!

Very dated units, sagging beds, 1960's décor, basic stainless kitchens. Unit was clean but compact, very noisy from main road - wouldn't recommend for families with young children as units are right there on the footpath. Didn't find the owners particularly friendly or helpful. Had to wait ages to even check in after repeatedly pushing the buzzer, then were chucked... More

The heating in the room was really not cutting it at all but other than that, given the price, it's a good cheap option. The units are dated but the sheets & towels are clean, the bathroom was clean, the kitchen sink was so shiny even my husband commented (something along the lines of how come you can't get our... Stayed Saturday night 15 March 2014 unit 7 . Was pleasantly surprised when we entered the room. Wow the place was spotless. If you want clean, comfortable and reasonably priced accommodation in Timaru the Blue Dolphin Motel is great. The owners are lovely and very helpful.

Stayed one night in an executive studio unit - executive room it is not however it was clean and basic. We paid $102 through Jason's. Music heard all night which was annoying and kept us awake. On a main road so noisy. No pool or fitness centre touched them by mistake on my iPad and can't remove it f

The owners were very friendly and welcoming and the motel is close to the bay as well as to the supermarket down the street no road noise as we stayed in a back unit a dairy is 2 minutes away by foot.
