My husband and I stayed here with my mother and father for our engagement celebrations for 2 nights. We still talk about how awful the host was. The highlights of his actions include allowing a fellow guest, trying to climb through our motel window at midnight. He explained she was a regular (with a mental problem) and blaming us for... I found my recent stay at this motel very enjoyable. I was warmly welcomed by the owners little black Schnauzer, Rose, at check in and everything was ready for me. The room (Unit 15) was immaculate, the bed was very comfortable and I found the huge spa bath the perfect way to end the day. It was also very relaxing... More

I have never come across an operator of a motel as awful as the man that works at the Regency. My partner and I were meant to stay at the motel with a group of parents who had travelled to Ashburton to watch our daughters compete in a tournament. Our accommodation was booked by a fellow parent. Initially I thought... More

Hard small bed, hard pillows. Slow, spasmodic, wifi very frustrating if you are trying to do business communication. Pokey, cold space. Couch in lounge has springs poking in places they shouldn't! Very disappointing. Manager was sniffy when we told him we were checking out early because room was uncomfortable!

Stopped here for one night on the way back from Te Anau to Christchurch. Check in was fast and easy and parking was great. Rooms were very clean, beds comfortable, and kitchen facilities more than adequate for the short stay. The shower whilst being a little on the small side was excellent with great water pressure and long lasting hot... More

We stopped at the Regency for 25 nights whilst in Ashburton visiting family. We have two children (10 and 6). Murray and Katharine were very welcoming and made us feel at home. We had a two bedroom unit for our stay and it was comfortable and immaculately clean. The beds were comfy, the shower was perfect and there was everything... More

We were on the road and hadn’t booked ahead for the night, and stopped at the Regency because it looked nice and had room. It was a good choice. It’s not your standard tourist motel but appears mostly to cater for travelling tradesmen and truck drivers, although it has a swimming pool and children’s play area. The buildings and décor... Reasonably clean - but if you are looking for comfort and a warm welcome - better to drive on by. Sadly the same probably applies to Ashburton. So many great places on the South Island - we won't be rushing back

We made a last minute decision to overnight in Ashburton and checked into the Regency. Typical NZ motel but very clean and tidy. Heaters in the living as well as bedroom which was welcome against the cold. Well presented and our only gripe is the shower pressure which is very low. We had a quiet night's sleep which is always... More

We have stayed here twice in the last 6 months. Room was well stocked, clean and tidy. The beds are very firm but the unit was quiet and double glazed which certainly keeps the noise out. Close to the shops and Robbies Restaurant was across the road.
