What a fantastic hotel. Super close to the beach (like 40m) and township. The staff were super friendly and welcoming. Gutted we only booked one night, would have been nice to stay for the weekend and try out the spa bath! Would definitely recommend and stay again.

Stayed for one night, to save the drive back to Mt Roskill at 2:00 am Checked in early afternoon, friendly service, went to room which was downstair unit, had everything i needed. tried out the spa bath and this was nice, everything was clean, and very comfortable beds. Came back at 2:00am and crashed in the bed, and had a... More

I did get this room on deal so paid alot less than full rates but it was my best stay for a motel in NZ. Very clean rooms, so much space, beautiful spa and facilities, quite modern and helpful service. Only stayed passing through however it looked close to services and the beach. Would recommend.

Spent a night here during winter months. A little walk to nearby restaurants and a little stroll tone the sea. Rooms was interesting layout with window access to the spa bathroom. Facilities clean and comfortable. Fold out bed in the lounge area a bit too small for adults. But ok for tired people. Efficient staff

We had requested a quiet room, and got the room on the very end with all the car parking outside. Loved the underfloor heating! The room was the access friendly room, so when showering, water went everywhere (obviously set up for wheelchair access). It seriously ran all over the bathroom, even with the curtain closed. Then we heard everyone talking... More

In the middle of a horrible storm we decided to get out of Auckland. We saw some reviews on Trip Advisor and booked Waves. We arrived in the wild weather and found a happy host. Nice touch to give us a small torch in case of power cuts. The room was a one bed(queen) with spa bath. Nice big spa... More

Fantastic 5 star experience. We usually stay at the Langham in Auckland but this time needed to stay on the North Shore. Although it is hard to compare a motel with a hotel, we found the standard of rooms, cleanliness and service rivals 5 star hotels that we stay at throughout the world

Friends that were staying here recommended that I book also. I had booked a garden spa room. It was very spacious and comfortable. If I stayed for more than 1 night, I would've used the spa, as it looked like it would've been divine. Next time. The staff were friendly and check-in was fast. My friends had booked an inter-connecting... More

The Waves motel is fun. Nice spacious rooms, friendly service, good location. And of course the wonderful Jacuzzi bathtub. Just the right place to stay after a long day of motorbike riding. Only the distance to the next restaurant can be a bit long on a rainy day.

Feels like a cross between a hotel and motel. We found it very modern, comfortable and spacious. The staff were very accommodating and provided great fold out beds for the kids. Good location too (about 4 houses down from the beach).
