We stayed there for only one night, but it was a really nice place, lovely rooms, great bath- toilet facilities. Clean and cosy. The kitchen has almost everything you need, except maybe some forks, knifes and spoons, but fine anyway. A place I would definitely recommend to other.

Most expensive backpackers I've been to so far in the last month, but by far the worst. Rooms were smelly, showers and toilets dirty. Dirty, smelly kitchen with just one proper spoon! I had to ask to open the lounge since it became a little bit to cold to stay outside. Manager wasn't happy about it all. Who else do... More

I have stayed here several times over the past few months. Basic yes, but clean, tidy and organised enough for me to recommend to family and friends. The new owners have always made me feel very welcome, often at short notice as I needed a base while relocating and studying a full time course. Thank you so much! and Happy... More

I didn't realise when booking that it was more for Backpackers and no one mentioned that we should have brought our own cutlery... soap.....hair dryer etc. Room was very small with a tiny en suite so we were grateful for that but very basic... no chair, no information folder, no teaspoon when we made a coffee... bedding looked 'tired' and... Avoid this place. For starters when I tried to check in I was told to wait 5 minutes, so I sat patiently for about 20 minutes as I watched the owner go from room to room to vacuum before finding the 2 minutes it took to check me in. This place is way overpriced at $31 and with the laundry... More

Room was very stuffy and not aired out bed was falling apart and had to be tightened, paid extra to have our own shower and toilet but the shower only trickled out freezing cold water even when turn around to hot, hand basin taps kept turn on themselves during the night and we had to keep getting up to turn... Yes, the hot water got problem on that night. The plumber was called in and the problem was fixed the next day. Sorry about the inconvenience. I don't think that we have a wifi connection problem. Please show me and I will fix it for you next time. Thanks. More

On our way from Paihia to Auckland we decided to sleep in Orewa. After trying to find a suitable motel/backpacker we chose this motel. We arrived during night and were not able to find a suitable parking space - so ofstreet parking. Then two nice but stinky dogs welcomed us and we paid for the night. We arrived in a... More

Stayed one night - the kitchen is well equipped, walking distance to shops - maybe 1km. The rooms are small but comfy beds and block out curtains. Has a laundry which is great & lots of seating for the weary traveler. The lounge room has a nice feel to it and is cosy with books & DVD's available and even... More
