My wife and I had a really comfortable stay at this lovely hotel in Ohakune. Chris, our host, was always on hand to help and lots of helpful information. We did the GrabOne deal that included transport to the Tongariro Crossing, a packed lunch and accommodation. This is excellent value for money! Thank you, Chris, for going the extra mile... More

We stayed in the 3 bedroom cottage with our 3 kids. It was a great size, with 2 bathrooms and 3 bedrooms. Beds were comfortable. It was good to have a really big lawn in front with the petanque court - heaps of space for running and playing. Obviously being on the state highway means you need to actively supervise... More

We had two very enjoyable nights at Tussock Grove so we could hike in the area around Ohakune. The owners were friendly, welcoming and very helpful. It was a huge help being dropped off at Horopito for the 16km walk back to Ohakune through the Tongariro National Park. The small unit was cosy with a bedroom upstairs and a small... More

We stayed two nights so we could enjoy hiking in the Tongariro National Park. The owners were friendly, welcoming and very helpful. We were dropped off at Horopito for the beautiful 16km walk back to Ohakune which made things much easier logistically. The rooms are small and cosy with the bedroom upstairs and a small living space plus bathroom downstairs.... More

We stayed here with a GrabOne deal for the Tongariro crossing package. The rooms were very cute, small living space and bathroom/shower downstairs with a bed on the upper level. Cooked meals in the morning and one evening were really nice. Great host with good tips. They really know what great service is about! We also really enjoyed playing with... More

4 of us arriving and wanting to do the Tongo crossing. On the first night (the night before the crossing), the male manager questioned me not paying back my student loan. Hmmmm, that was freaky, since when my student loan had anything to do with him? Second day after the crossing, i told the same man that i wasn't enjoyed... More

Pros: Lovely hosts, good food, cosy lounge and dining area. Comfy bed and clean bathroom. Cons: Broken window (glass) downstairs, décor Enjoyed our stay here overall, but our room was a bit tired. It was an awesome grabone deal though, so well worth the amount paid.

A wonderful motel run by the an amazing and friendly couple who where so welcoming and knowledgeable . Very cozy clean and comfortable . A lovely motel owned / operated by friendly , helpful and knowledgeable proprietors . Accommodation as part of Grabone " Tongariro Crossing " was clean , comfortable and noise free . Having access to the spa after the crossing was a real bonus. Great choice for breakfast as part of the package

Like many others we stayed here using a grab one voucher to do the Tongariro crossing. Like the other comments I would agree that this place is clean and comfortable and overall a very friendly and well-run place to stay. I would recommend staying here as we did to do the crossing.
