I stayed here after spending a few days completing the Tongariro Northern Circuit and from the moment I stepped into the lobby to inquire about room availability I was blown away by the friendly, accommodating service exhibited by the Innkeeper! Despite not having a reservation, we were able to secure an incredibly well-priced mini suite, and at the same time... More

We stayed here for two nights last week. The staff were very friendly and accommodating on check in and throughout our whole stay. While the room was a bit outdated and pretty basic, for the price it is pretty reasonable. Everything was clean and tidy, and once the heaters were on the place was nice and cosy. We had a... More

the room was small, cheap with very basic out dated furnishing. The walls may as well be paper screens as you can hear everything in the next door units. The lighting and shower also needs to be a bit stronger. Apart from this, the location and service was good.

Arrived late and there had been a mixup in the booking dates but managers soon sorted us out with an extra room. The outstanding feature of this motel is in the title because I have never seen such a clean motel unit. Rooms were warm and facilities very good. The rooms look a little old fashioned but it adds to... More

When we arrived we were greeted by a lovely lady who was more than happy to show us around the property. When we settled in to go to sleep the couple next door (who had a super active toddler) we could hear clearly and the floor boards creaked like crazy! The child would run around to around 10pm and keep... More

We just stayed (briefly) at this motel. First impressions weren't too flash, though check in was efficient. Paid a reasonably large sum for a Queen Studio Ensuite though apparently that's to be expected in "high season". Room very modest: dull, insipid lighting, 80s/90s throwback features, no plugs for either sink. Central heating was on but one modest radiator not enough... More

This is a pretty old joint about 2-3 minutes walk from the town centre. Rooms are quite small with basic décor and facilities. I would say it is fine for 1 or 2 nights sleep but if you are staying longer or get a couple of rainy days and get stuck indoors it might wear a bit thin after a... More

We were met by a very friendly lady at reception when we checked in, I can't find fault with the service as they picked us up from the train station and dropped us off and were overall, very friendly. The motel itself though, is in dire need of some maintenance. There was no remote for the tv, no tea towel... More

This place provides more than what is expected out of a 'motel'. Definitely a good place to stay for a family if you are in Ohakune, and especially if you are a foreigner struggling to figure out how to get to Tongariro National Park from Wellington. And yes, you can really get the view of Mount Ruapehu from the motel.... More

We stayed for 2 nights and it was great! Staff were helpful, parking and wifi were free (100MB per day), and the room was comfortable. The motel is just off the main road through the town and very close to the i-site visitor information centre. And yes we did have a mountain view (just!). The heating was good - just... More
