This is a high-end B & B. The room and ensuite are modern, super-clean and luxurious. Alan and Susie have a hospitality and travel background so have taken the time to find out about and try the local attractions and things to do. They gave great recommendations for walks and eating out. Alan and Susie are professional in their approach... More

Susie and Alan were perfect hosts for our 4 night stay. We had only planned 2 nights but ended up staying longer so we could do the Tongariro crossing. The reason we loved Manuka Lodge so much is due to the great hospitality, lovely room, fantastic breakfast and the hot tub. It's a great place to kick back and relax... More

Susie and Alan are very welcoming and only too happy to share their local knowledge and advice. They are gracious hosts who truly make you feel at home. The room we had was spacious and clean with excellent toiletries in the large ensuite. The breakfast was delicious with plenty of options and just what we needed before heading up the... More

Susie and Alan give you a wonderful welcome and make you feel right at home. Breakfast is served at a communal table just off the kitchen and sets you up for the days activities - in our case the Tongarrio Crossing (which we found out later they will drop you off and pick you up from as well) The B&B... Thanks for the lovely words of appreciation. Great to hear you noticed the insulation, that, the double glazing and the central heating were non-negotiable on the build list. It makes such a difference. More

We stayed 5 nights and it was fabulous, very high quality in all regards and extremely comfortable. Suzie and Alan are knowledgeable about the local area, which is great for walking, cycling, skiing and sightseeing. We'll definitely stay here again!

We caught a bus to Ohakune, which unfortunately was half an hour late. However, as soon as we stepped off the bus we were warmly greeted by Alan and Susie on a very cold day, which was extremely refreshing. As soon as we stepped into the lodge we immediately were amazed by how home-like and cozy the lodge was, and... More

I stayed one night at the Manuka Lodge on my recent trip to New Zealand. The lodge is extremely comfortable and the owners are very welcoming. The lodge is located in a quiet neighborhood with very easy access to the town. I even walked into the town at night to get an evening meal. I would recommend the Manuka lodge... More

We stayed at Manuka Lodge one night last April arriving from TongariroNP. Ohakune is a winter city, probabily very crowded during ski season. Manuka lodge is very good accomodation with confortable rooms and well equipped ensuite bathroom. Breakfast was very good with fresh fruits, yogurth, homemade marmelade and cooked meals.

Ohakune's claim to fame is that it sits at the bottom of Mt Ruapehu (part of the Tongariro National Park). We had scheduled this stop as our outdoorsy part of our honeymoon due to the great walks and kayaking in the area but wanted somewhere cosy to spend our nights. As it was it there was bad rain and snow... More
