We were hoping to be getting to Manuka Lodge after an exhausting hike across Tongariro, sadly the weather scuppered this! So instead we got to this home away from homes and had a leisurely tea & cake whilst relaxing. The owners are welcoming & friendly and we really appreciated their tips as we headed up the mountain and finally got... More

We spent two nights at Manuka Lodge which is a lovely new house with spacious, spotless and lovingly prepared rooms and shared lounge area. Alan & Susie are super hosts who booked our transport for the Tongariro Alpine Crossing, suggested additional walks, prepared a delicious take away lunch and yummy breakfasts (highly recommend the French toast!!). We took full advantage... More

Perfect spot for a quick 2 day trip to the mountain, wish we could have stayed longer. Friendly, nice house and room, felt like home. Great advice for when the slopes were closed. Awesome spa pool. And breakfast too!! My first time in a B and B - this place has set a high standard.

We stayed at Manuka Lodge for 2 nights earlier this month and were very pleased with the accommodation, the breakfasts and the welcome and friendliness of our hosts, Susie and Alan. The Lodge has clearly been designed with the comfort of guests in mind - we had a lovely ensuite bedroom upstairs at the back of the house overlooking farmland... More

We have just returned from a great three-night stay from 27th to 29th September. The four of us all enjoyed the experience of our well-appointed rooms and especially the calves grazing in the paddock outside our bedroom window! The breakfasts were great as was the conversation and helpful advice on eating-out places and general information. We will surely be back... More

The accommodation was very clean and quiet. As the website suggests, there is a cat there, but even with a hyper-allergic wife, this was not a problem, as they keep the cat out of the rooms and the home is very clean. The owners are amazing - they were very friendly and gave us space. Plus the breakfast was very... More

I stayed at the Manuka Lodge with my 2 daughters (7 & 4 years old) for three nights as a base for our ski trip. Alan and Suzie were fantastic - helping us make the most of our brief trip. The Lodge is outstanding - all of the luxury of a hotel with the warmth and character of a home,... More

Manuka Lodge is a perfect B&B when staying in Ohakune. Its close to town and easy to get to the national park from there. The hosts made a great breakfast and were very helpful. They even went the extra mile and gave us a lift to the national park! They made our experience so memorable I couldn't imagine staying anywhere... More

We stayed four nights at Alan & Susie's superbly designed B&B and we would totally recommend it. The bedroom was extremely comfortable, and the communal areas (indoors and out) worked very well. Alan & Susie are the most helpful of hosts, they are very knowledgeable about the area and gave us plenty of ideas about how to spend our time... More

Manuka Lodge is quiet, spacious, well-appointed, comfortable and only a short walk to the restaurants and shops at the south end of town. If you need a drying room they have a large one - fortunately, we didn't need it. Susie and Alan are great hosts. They are interesting, informative, amusing and not at all intrusive. They also provided a... More
