The hotel was in a lovely location set in the city walls. It was very central to all the attractions of Avila. We did not have an evening meal in the hotel so we cannot comment on the food. The garden was very pleasant although our rooms did not overlook it.Avila is a lovely city with magnificent views all around.

Stayed in Paradores` most nights while visiting Spain. Great value for quality of hotels and service. Parador de Avila is within the city walls which is very convenient. The room was lovely, clean and one feels that they are part of history. The dining rooms are very nice as well - high ceilings and well decorated. We found the food... More

My friends and I had only one night to stay and explore Avila, and stayed at the Parador de Avila. What a great experience that was! The Parador is located right at the old town wall and it was wonderful to walk around the entire old town on the wall walk. The hotel was clean and very nice, including the... More

Beautiful large standard room overlooking the garden. The Paradore was a lovely interesting building filled with history. The Paradore is in and old palace within the town’s ancient walls and within easy walking distance of everything. Staff were friendly and helpful – although with limited English spoken. The only problem we had was in relation to parking – language misunderstanding... More

Our first parador visit was not really special, reception was not friendly at all. No explanation of restaurant, complaining our luggage was heavy. Also the food is not very refined, rather simple. Portions are just too big.

As an Architect I am always searching for hotels that are historic. Most of the Paradores of Spain fit the bill. This one has a courtyard and a great view of a beautiful exterior gardens. Rooms are clean and comfortable . Very attentive staff ! provided orientation and suggestions of the area. Would not hesitate in going back.

The walled city of Avila is a stunning place and the parador is in an excellent location. Infact we could see our bedroom window when we walked the walls. As this was a big birthday we booked a suite for 3 nights. The room was lovely and spacious , so much so that we had to leave the light on... More

Stayed here for just one night, arriving early evening. First impressions were very good, reception staff extremely helpful and polite. We had no problem finding the parador via Sat -Nav parking proved easy too, I can understand though at busier times the opposite could apply. The room we had overlooked the garden, was of a good size and the bathroom... More

Lovely building and situated right on wall. Our second Parador stay and slightly disappointed with this one. Another very large room but dark with only a view to modern rooftop next door. The air-conditioning doesn't begin until June and our room was very warm. Difficult parking in paid garage. A little overpriced.

Of all the ( many) historic Paradors I have visited, this one probably comes bottom of the list. Yes, the rooms are clean and reasonably modern but the hotel itself was of little interest. I had booked months in advance and arrived early afternoon so I thought I might get a good room but no. My room overlooked the car... More
