We feel somewhat let down by Hotel Palacio de Los Velada. Why? After we made the booking we received an email that we could expect traffic problems due to a medieval festival in town. What the hotel did not say was that the hotel could not at all be reached by car. After a hour of driving rounds and finally... More

The location of the hotel is within the old city walls which makes exploring the old city very easy. Our room was spacious, furniture was dated but that was expected in an old castle! For 1 Euro you can park just outside the city walls so ask the reception where to go. Don't forget to climb the walls!

This is a great hotel to stay! Very unique that it is located within these 100ft tall fortress walls in this very historic medieval town in Avila, Spain! We happened to be here during a 3 day festival! This made it even more special! There is a parking garage, but unfortunately due to the festival, we were unable to use... More

Turns out Avila is a UNESCO World Heritage site. A stunning little town and this hotel is a bargain. The rooms would make Hyacinth Bucket proud. The bathroom is basic but none the less a great budget option. It's very central, opposite the cathedral and tourist information. Great for a stop over.

Not a palace in the British sense so don't expect Buckingham! Non the less this modern hotel is built around a traditional Avilan palace. Sympathetic job in a good location to explore this lovely town. We had a brilliant time, it was exceedingly cold while we were there -7! But the hotel was warm and welcoming. Only thing that spoiled... More

I stayed in this hotel in June as part of a group of 5 friends. reception area very good and main bar area stunning with three storey arched walls as a backdrop. Rooms very comfortable although would have liked a view. Only had a small high window so felt a little claustrophobic. Could not get the safe to work either.... More

This hotel is everything needed on a touring holiday. There is an underground car park and a good breakfast with plenty of choice. The elegant central patio is enclosed so it can be enjoyed at any time. We did not eat in the restaurant so cannot comment on that. The room was of a good size (so we could both... More

The hotel is located within the walls, right in the cathedral square. This repurposed palace is full of charm, where you can enjoy dinner or a drink in the comfortable glass-roofed courtyard and never want to leave. The food was nice and a good plentiful buffet breakfast if you are willing to pay 12€. Which is fine considering the room... More

I stayed in this hotel on Sat 21st June and Sun 22nd June. I will write a seperate review later but on the Sunday, I was taking photos with a tripod and put down my camera bag either in the main bar area or on one of the corridors on the 1st or 2nd floor. I went out to dinner... More

location could not be beaten, you are inside the walled ancient city with the amazing wall surrounding it. see the wall at nigh BTW while swallows flit around it. The hotel is large, sometimes over-run by tourists in large groups. Lovely indoor patios Breakfast only so-so, stick w the coffee and croissant choice, cheaper and a better value, than the... More
