I came across Trip Advisor while planning an upcoming trip out of state. Last summer, I stayed at Great Alaska Adventure lodge for a week. It started with my flight into Anchorage, where I was quickly boarded onto a ,"puddle jumper" to Kenai. It was BEAUTIFUL. Upon my arrival I was picked up in a timely manner and brought to... More

My husband and I spent 9 nights in Alaska this August on a long-awaited "trip of a lifetime" only we will be doing it again and as soon as possible. The first 5 nights we stayed at the lodge and enjoyed some world class fishing for Salmon and Trout on the Kenai and other rivers nearby. We were impresed with... More

We paid handsomely for a day's fishing through the Great Alaskan Adventure Lodge. The day was spun out over 16 hours, travelling from Anchorage. After a pleasant lunch we were driven a further hour to a river to drift fish for salmon. Our guide knew that this river was not fishing well. So did the lodges' driver. We spent four... More

Dear traveler: this review concerns our one day fishing trip, which included r/t transfers from Anchorage by sightseeing van, lunch at our lodge, a days fishing license and King Stamp (if required) along with all equipment. While no one would say that 295.00 is inexpensive, it is the same price we've offered the drip for nearly 30 years. I'm afraid... More

Our family included two adults and two children ages 4 and 7. We had the most amazing adventure and were treated exceptionally well by the staff and guides. It was our very first trip to the amazing state of Alaska and we were not quite sure what to expect especially with small children. What we found was a warm friendly... More

We did an overnight Bear Camp, and it exceeded our expectations in every way possible. We were picked up in Anchorage in the morning, transported by van to the lodge in Sterling (with a couple nice stops along the way, including ice cream at Summit Lake Lodge), treated to a great lunch of halibut BLTs, on to the airport in... I don’t often write reviews but felt compelled to do so after my most extraordinary visit to the Kenai Peninsula last fall, Great Alaska Adventure Lodge was our host. Upon arrival you immediately get the feeling that you are in good hands , The General Manager Toby Sprinkle heads up what is with out a doubt one of the tightest... More

I would rate GAAL a very poor value. For $700 per night about the highest in Alaska, you get poor service, poor food, poor bedding, and while it is at the confluence of the Kenai and Moose Rivers all the day trips are miles away. The personnel were poorly trained and tired. We just had a very bad experience and... More

I joined TripAdvisor just to sing the praises of this outstanding adventure lodge and it's superior staff. What a Team! There are not many good hotels in Alaska. I think this is due to the small window of the tourist season. I chose this hotel due to the number of activities it offered in one central location. I was traveling with two children and did not want to drive for miles and miles to do different things. Great Alaska has... More

Took a family vacation here and did salmon fishing, bear viewing, kayaking in Homer, and rafting down the Kenai. It was an incredible stay! The lodge is peaceful and minimal. The meals each night along with the happy hour on the patio really added to the experience. You got to meet other people and tell stories of what you did... More
