- poor wifi coverage (2-3 mbits) - no refrigerator - Due to the construction of the building, the ceiling in the bathroom is quite low + Nice and very competent owner ( speaks many languages) + Very nicely furnished + Possibility to sleep in a medieval building ( there were arrow slits above our bed :)) + Healthy and organic... Owner was incredibly helpful throughout our stay. Great quirky room, a little small but otherwise perfect. Wooden steps to go up to bed. Loved it and would not hesitate to recommend. Breakfast local produce and very nice continental style. Fabulous personal hotel in a lovely town.

One of the best places I have stayed at anywhere. The owner was very helpful, generous with his time, and kind. The location can't be beat, found right at the gate when entering the old city. The building is incredibly well renovated and room was very clean and the only complaint (though so minor) was the lack of AC (though... More

Don't bother considering anywhere else. Superb host for whom nothing is too much trouble. Characterful property and comfortable rooms in an excellent location on the town wall. Free parking available too. The breakfast tops it off.

I loved absolutely everything about it. I stayed in two different rooms (a double and single) and both were very clean and comfy and charmingly decorated. Sorin, the owner, is an amazing host, extremely helpful and welcoming. Breakfasts are delicious and provide a sample of different cheeses and organic products of Transylvania. It is located in the heart of Sighisoara... More

I really enjoyed staying at this property. The host is amazing. The breakfast is very good and the location is wonderful. The breakfast is second to none. Most of the thinks are made on site and are very fresh. I would defiantly stay here again. The city is really magical.

The Pension Am Schniederturm is the sort of place i hope to find everywhere. we arrived having walked from the station and not having any real idea where we were going. we were hot and sweaty and really tired. Sorin, the owner was ready and waiting for us - he knew our names and had a couple of glasses of... More

The previous reviewer, from Tunbridge Wells, where my wife teaches and my daughter goes to school (small world) sums it up. I agree that Sorin has made an enormous effort with the pension and was very welcoming and gave me lots of ideas of places to visit and eat. The room was traditionally furnished, although no comfy chairs. I wonder... More

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
The Pension am Schneiderturm guesthouse is located in Transylvania, in the medieval town of Sighişoara, near the citadel's main access gate. This medieval house dates back to 1797 and, through construction and architectural style, it forms an integral part both of the Tailors' Tower and of the citadel's Wall. Traditionally restored, the guesthouse has four double bed rooms, one single bed room and an apartment, all of which are furnished with authentic pieces of furniture in massive wood and have their own private bathrooms, fully equipped. In case the tourists staying at the guesthouse would like to pay a two-wheeled visit to the tourist attractions near the medieval town, they will be able to do so, as the guesthouse offers them the possibility to use, free of charge, its high quality, modern and well-kept bikes. Breakfast is on the house and it consists of local food products, purchased from the farmers living in the villages close to Sighişoara. ... more   less
