The view of the mountains and valley from our private balcony was beautiful, and Sapa is charming. However this hotel is old and tired and it shows. We paid $25 for a double deluxe room. It was not good value. We booked through "hotels in vietnam" website, and specificaly asked for double room with private balcony.. When we arrived they... more

The rooms in this hotel have great views over the valley but are very tired. The service from the staff is not helpful at all. It seemed any request was too much trouble unless it was for extra cost i.e. a tour. The internet was patchy but free. Overall for the price there for the value was not there. more

Take one of the rooms with a view on the mountains (around 20 dollars) and you won't get dissapointed. The rooms on the street side are noisy. The bathrooms are a quite old, with a leak bath tub and basin. The staff is a bit difficult when it comes to bargaining, e.g. when you enter the breakfast room, you can't... more

We are just coming back from a great time in Viet Nam. We reserved our rooms after reading about the hotel in Lonely Planet. We specified heated room. It was just great. Yes the rooms are not the Ritz, but it is Sapa. We had a heater in the room, as aid to heating, but it was stil a bit... more

First up, my review is from my stay at this hotel during Winter. POSITIVES:- * Great location (close to shops, markets and amenities) * Hotel has an almost Alpine appeal to it in it's decor * Rooms spacious * Many rooms with balconies or windows to view from. (but in Winter, all you see is fog with no more than... more

We found location good, views, none even from corner coz of mist... but the room was very clean, but the bed was the most uncomfy one we had in Vietnam, old and lumpy. Window locks were broken. THere has been a change in ownership since Lonely PLanet was written and for the price i find it a bit sloppy, but... more

My girlfriend and I came here expecting a view and although there was no rooms with a view available, it did not matter as the cloud was so low and it was raining the whole time. Overall the room was very clean and the facilities above what you would expect for $12 per night. We had 3 other friends that... more

I regretted choosing this hotel from the agent. Since I've already paid for a room so I felt that I shouldn't waste my money. I booked for a mountain view room with terrace and was given bottom room with a local's toilet view which it is so disgusting. When I expressed my dissappointment, the reception coldly told me that they... more

After a poor experience and the Sapa Boutique Rooms Hotel we walked down the street to the Mountain View Hotel, located right in the heart of Sapa. My girlfriend and my top priority was a room with a view, which is one of the true benefits of a mountain town like Sapa. There were a few different price ranges for... more

We booked into this hotel as part of a package tour in Sapa via a hotel in Hanoi. We were shown to a basement room with rickety furniture, nasty stained towels and suspicious looking beds. It was so cold in the room that we puffed steam when we spoke. We refused the room and requested another. The first response was... more
