We took the overnight Victoria Train from Hanoi. The two of us had a very attractive private berth decorated with traditional Sapa tapestries. Unfortunately my husband is 6'2" tall which is more than the length of the bed so he didn't have the best nights sleep. Had a drink in the club car before bed which was nice. Really enjoyed... More

We caught the LIvitrain to Sapa from Hanoi. We had paid for 4 berths to ensure that we had a cabin to ourselves. The journey was still a bit of a nightmare. However, we arrived at the hotel after a hair-raising ride from the station only to be told that we could not check in until 2.00pm (we arrived at... More

The train trip to Sapa is a tough one and the Victoria hotel has it's own train carriage attached to the Sapa train which is very clean and comfortable , this alone made the Victoria a stand out. Besides that though you could get better quality accomodation in Sapa. The tour desk offered overpriced tours . Definitely use local tour... More

We took the Victoria Express train from Hanoi to Sapa overnight which was nice. Slept well too. We got to the hotel around 9.45am and were able to check in right away which was lovely of them. We had a room on the third floor and views over the town and mountains and loved seeing the mist and fog roll... More

The Vic is easly the nicest, most comfortable and picturesque hotel in Sapa and really the only place to stay for anything even close to luxury. However, only 50% if the front desk staff can speak passable English and the tour booking guide is no better then the guy next door. The main draw back with the Vic is the... More

What a great place this is! Let down only by persistent mist fog and woodsmoke which obscures what would otherwise be magnificent scenery. I am sure there is an optimum time to be here for best weather. Overnight train from Hanoi the last and spectacular stages of which are traversed in daylight. The train is squeezy - we had a... More

Four of us spent two nights at this hotel. We were very pleased with our stay. The hotel is not new but well maintained and beautifully decorated. The staff is very attentive. Our phone was not working but was fixed within 10 minutes. The views from the balconies are magnificent. It was amazing to see the clouds flying through the... More

Great location, rather noisy in the early morning. The bathroom fittings need urgent attention, leaking from shower tub. Facilities older style generally. No lifts. gardens and surrounds beautifully maintained. Food and beverage very expensive in the hotel area.

This is a 5 star hotel and great resort after a rough overnite train from Hanoi. It has a very upscale spa that is reasonably priced. The hotel is within walking distance to the town with many retail and restaurants. The hotel has a boutique shop for souvenirs that are comparably priced from the town shops. The rooms are very...
