We paid $20 a night to stay here (not booked in advance - just turned up) which was one of the cheaper options on a very busy weekend (Sept 2nd Vietnam national holiday weekend). We stayed for 1 night (too busy in Sapa - complete tourist trap this weekend). We stayed in a bunch of $10-20 a night hotels in... More

We stayed here as it was the hotel included in our Sapa trek homestay excursion package. We stayed 1 night after the homestay night, before heading back to Hanoi. We arrived very early in the morning after a night on the sleeper train, it was cold out, so we thought a nice hot shower and warm breakfast would start us... More

We had lovely big rooms with balconies and a patio at the end of the hallway. The staff were friendly and helpful. The only complaint was the tv wasn't any good. Breakfast was ok. I had a massage and it was very good - $10. Beautiful furniture in the rooms. The place is getting old but still very nice to... More

We booked the Sapa tour at the airport and this hotel is included in the package. The out look is not bad. The nice thing was the staff provided us a place to bath even our room was not readied. But the worst things started..nil air-con..nil light during our bath..towers were a bit dirty.. When we checked in our room,... More

Stayed for 2 nights in this property in December. While the staff is rather friendly and cooperative, the noise from the 4th floor is unbearable at times. I suspect the 4th floor is being used to accommodate their staff or perhaps being rented out to some local workers. Was given a room on the 4th floor and without elevator it... More

The staff was very friendly and helpful. The rooms were quite large and clean. You had to rent space heaters (only $1 USD) but it was hard to warm the room because of the size. Most of the year is probably okay but we visited during a cold time of the year (January). We thought the breakfast buffet that is... More

This is a disguisting place. The rooms are dirty and cold in the winter. There is no heating and no insulaton - huge gaps in the doors and windows. The bathroom is horrible - hot water for 2 minutes and the whole place gets flooded. Oo yeah and the breakfast room - no comment, see the pictures which were uploaded... More

It's an okay base for exploring Sapa - we stayed here for 10 nights and it was mostly fine for us. Over a couple of nights the staff who we presume live at the hotel were pretty noisy (it's like they forgot there were guest in the hotel; maybe it wasn't a busy period). We did have 3 little cockroaches... More

First of all I'm pretty amazed by some people's bad reviews on here about hoang ha. I'd go so far as to suggest that the main complaints are from those who have far too high an expectation of a hotel that charges roughly £6 per person per night. I dare anyone to find a hotel in england charging that much... More

We booked a tour and part of it was a quick shower and breakfast after a 8 hour train ride from Hanoi. Let me tell you after you've experienced the train ride, the hour + ride on a bus you want somewhere clean, dry, half decent, enough light to see what you are doing, dry toilet paper, clean towel, decent...
