The water in the shower doesn't get hot. The bedding smelled. The room smelled and felt very humid because of the lack of air conditioning. The staff holds your passport hostage because of some lame excuse about the proximity to the Chinese boarder. We booked the room as part of a tour package so we did not have a choice.... More

This hotel has the most amazing views from the bedrooms with the balconies. The bedroom was ok, bed was comfortable, bathroom needs updating. The real disappointment was the restaurant table clothes we dirty, the uniforms being wore by the staff we dirty and on sitting down at the table for breakfast there were several cockroaches running around! The view from... More

We stayed a week at the Sapa View Hotel. The staff was friendly and greeted us with a welcome tea. Our room was clean and comfortable. The shower had great pressure and hot water, WiFi was fine, and breakfast made to order. We had the most beautiful views from our two balconies on the 5th floor. It is in a... More

Sadly we only stayed one night at the Sapa View but we would have loved to stay a week. Our room was clean and comfortable and had the most magnificent view of the mountains. It's in walking distance to everything and the staff were super friendly and helpful. Also we booked a day hike with the Sapa O'Chau organisation affiliated... More

We had a wonderful time staying at the hotel. We stayed on a 3rd floor with a mountain view room. The best hotel I've stayed in Vietnam :) The view from our room is beyond describe, truly beautiful. You can see all those stepped- rice field even when you are in shower ! Also in the evening, you can sit... More

We used this as a base while we went trekking in sapa, the hotel itself was nicely located and had friendly staff. The food and rooms along with the general decor are past due an update but as we were there for the outdoors we didn't mind...

I chose this hotel from previous reviews and for the amazing views from the balcony. We weren't disappointed! The weather was warm and sunny with the clouds rolling in late afternoon, even rolling into our room if the balcony door was open. Be aware, the hotel has no lift and the wooden staircase can be tricky. The bed was extremely... More

We were lucky enough to have clear skies for our stay and the view from our room and balcony was stunning. We took lots of photos and the sun hitting the mountains in the morning was spectacular. I really liked the room as well. There was coffee and tea making facilities as well as bottled water every day, a fireplace... More

Had the family room for 4 of us and slept like babies! Really like the room we had and the decor. Great location just out of the main scene. View was obscured by fog but looked like it would have been great. Breakfast was not the buffet but cook to order and good. Great staff went out of their way... More

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Overlooking the breathtaking Muong Hoa valley, the Sapa View Hotel offers competitive rates for rooms with views of Mount Fansipan, the last major peak in the Himalayan chain and Indochina's highest mountain. Less than a five-minute walk from Sapa town's main shopping and restaurant area, Sapa View remains quiet and just off the beaten path. Wooden furnishings combined with locally-made decorative handicrafts provide a decor that is both modern and culturally specific to the area. With over fifty photographs and detailed descriptions of local customs lining entrances and hallways, Sapa View serves as a convenient gallery museum for its guests. Room amenities include bathrobes, a fireplace or electric heater, electric blankets and hair dryers for cold winter months, as well as flat-screen cable TVs, safes for valuables, tea/coffee/minibar and WiFi. Sapa View also offers a restaurant, bar, terrace, massage, bike rental, car hire services and free parking. All travel arrangements can be made through the hotel, including trekking and homestays in ethnic minority villages. Please inquire with the hotel for a full list of services. A partnership was recently made between Sapa View Hotel and the Sapa O'Chau community development project, which supports education of children and families from local tribes. As a guest of Sapa View you may support their efforts by responsibly purchasing from the craftstore or by scheduling a guided trek. There are also opportunities to volunteer during your stay. ... more   less
