Taman Ahimsa means 'Garden of Peace' which, apart from the rhythmic waves breaking just beyond the boundary of this magical seven-bedroomed villa on Bali's south-west coast, describes the setting perfectly. Traditional materials of thatch, coconut husks, bamboo, rattan and recycled wood enhance a stunning natural environment, while Indonesian artefacts and ornate handmade fabrics lend unique character to interiors. After a day of relaxation or an invigorating massage by the pool, let your taste buds be dazzled by the villa's skilled chef and his team before heading back to your dreamy bedroom pavilion with its starlit ocean views.

Taman ahimsa— means garden of peace, is a private palm fringed waterfront thatched roofed villa near Canggu with 7 bedrooms, where you could get a massage while dramatic waves break againt the cement wall separating you from the elements. Steep stone steps leads down to the sea, safe to explore during low tides. This was an almost perfect stay where I got to hang out with friends for six days, this place is ideal for multi generational families or parties. I was with friends and did our almost daily yoga, and really enjoyed the delicious homecooked meals when we were not eating out in town While the location is beautiful, below are a few points the villa can upgrade on 1. slow wifi and staff (not very proactive) 2. Two of my friends moved room because their aircon did not work (and the villa staff did try to fix it) 3. My first night here just before 6 am, the room’s landline phone rang — definitely wasn’t any of my friends. I subsequently unplugged the phone. 4. My last night here it rained so hard the thatched roof was leaking rain on my bed & kept me up since 3 am 5. I had a huge room that had a gorgeous outdoor bathroom, except my shower water had a super rusty smell.

We had the most amazing stay in this villa with our immediate family. The rooms are spacious, the grounds just beautiful, the staff lovely, food absolutely delicious and great value (altho we did feel bad about how much food was leftover!!). The BBQs are a must! Thank you to all the staff who made our stay just brilliant!! We were told that there were some building works happening next door but that didn’t disturb our stay. It’s a very peaceful setting altho if you’re a light sleeper you may want to bring earplugs as the noise of the waves at night + wildlife did keep a few of us awake. We also had our wedding here and our guests were just blown away by the villa and view over the beach! It was a stunning setting and we can highly recommend. We were worried about the sun / how hot it might be but we held our ceremony on the grass area in front of the pool (right side) at 4.30 and there was lovely shade for all our guests. Cocktails on the left side of the grass, dinner on the grass area behind the pool, band set up underneath the bar area and dance floor on the deck + pool party later - it was just stunning and perfect, we couldn’t have been happier. The only thing that we could comment on for improvement would be for the staff to be more attentive when guests are relaxing by the pool. We didn’t have anyone come and check on us / ask if we wanted any drinks etc. They were very attentive as soon as you went and asked for something but there were a few times when we wondered where the staff were. Also while the view over the beach is lovely, the beach itself is not that picturesque once you’re on it and walk in either direction away from the villa which is a shame. Overall though a gorgeous villa that really makes you feel like you’re in Bali. The memories we’ve made will stay with us forever.

I'm not sure why but the villa staff were unable to call blue bird taxis for the guests and only reverted to calling private drivers (who charged triple the cost of what a blue bird taxi would cost). I asked a few times for the villa staff to call blue bird taxis (which all other villas/hotels were able to do) but they said the only drivers they can get are these private drivers (which we had to bargain with while the villa staff watched). It is these types of experiences that makes me not want to return to Bali again.

Dear Bert, Thank you for your feedback on the use of Blue Bird taxis in Taman Ahimsa. We were unable to find any record of your stay at Taman Ahimsa but allow us to address your concern which you might have heard elsewhere. As explained to all our registered guests during stay, the banjar (village authority) where our villa is locate do not allow taxis or online transport vehicles to operate to and from the area as only one transport organization is allowed. I regret that we have no choice but to follow this. Even without this restriction, please note that Blue Bird taxis normally operate in the Seminyak area and nearby places only and Taman Ahimsa is already outside of Blue Bird taxi normal area of operation. We hope this helps to clarify and thank you again for your feedback.

Incredible location!!!! The first walk through blows your mind. As you stay, you walk around thinking, how am I so lucky? The rooms are beautiful and spacious and the outdoor bathroom looks like it's out of a magazine. The staff are eager to help and are not over bearing. The food is great for any meal and more than your group will need. Very generous!!! Absolutely recommend for a relaxing holiday or a special event!

arriving at Taman Ahimsa is arriving in heaven! Everything is absolutely perfect and there is beauty everywhere.Beautiful big rooms (each one with a different decoration and named after the 7 chakras) with a private terrace. The manager and her staff are amazing and the cook spoiled us every day with delicious plates. The large beach in front of the house is empty and you can take never ending walks or just enjoy the tide and the power of the beautiful waves. A wonderful place to spend a vacation with family and/or friends to relax, enjoy in the garden pavillons massages or to discover nearby the Green village, Fivelements (another place to feel in heaven), Ubud or Seminyak. I can`t wait to go back to this magic place.

we spend unfortunately too little time at this superb villa, but long enough to really recommend it! A fantastic retreat for who wants to enjoy the peace and quiet, and the beautiful villas with its surroundings and is fantastic staff. We had an absolutely great time, had no problem at all with mosquitoes, and they added a guard on duty through out the night, just to feel more secure. We were looking for a place to relax and not feel crowded, after touring Bali for a few days and we absolutely found it! a magical and serene oasis! before this Villa we spend 4 night at five elements in Ubud, which is very different and complimentary to this villa for a full sense of all what the best of Bali has to offer

Stayed over Christmas 2016 and all I have is praise for the villa, staff and management. I have stayed at a few Elite Havens properties, all of them good but Taman Ahisma is the jewel in the crown. From the moment you arrive to the day you leave you are treated with the utmost respect and nothing is too difficult. Special mention to the wonderful kitchen staff, their food is out of this world . If you are not sure on staying at the villa don't hesitate...... You will not regret booking this property.

We stayed at Taman Ahimsa for 3 nights for our daughter's wedding. It was beautiful and the staff very friendly and accomodating. A little piece of paradise. Highly recommended for anyone wanting a high quality Bali experience. The traditional ambience, coupled with an air of refinement, combined to make an unforgettable experience.
