We came up here for a family vacation, and we're hoping to find a place we could come back to for years to come. This was not what we got. The owner Mel was rude and unwelcoming. Every time a family member set foot outside she sent her husband or son in law over. They came over to tell us more... More

Our party was told not to worry about bringing fishing poles, reels, waders, boots etc... When our party arrived we found out hip waders were only available at Kamp. At almost any location along the shore of the Kenai River hip waders aren't adequate enough. Obtaining fishing poles, reels, boots was like pulling Mel's teeth. We were paying customers not... More

We were recommended by a friend to stay at Krog's Kamp. We live in Indiana so that is about 5,000 miles from home and we had no idea what to expect. We were made to feel at home and Ms. Mel, Bob and Eric treated us like family. They gave us suggestions on what is around there then asked what... More

My family (group of about 16) put together our trip in less than a year. Our backbone, mother, grandmother, passed away from cancer she endured for the second time in her life. She wanted her ashes put in a river in AK as it was the "most beautiful place she had ever been." We ended up booking Krogs Kamp beings... More

I like fishing, but camping - not so much. These cabins are older but have all the necessary modern conveniences. There was a large grill on the deck with a small table and chairs. The cabins are clean and well furnished.and more importantly, adjacent to the Kenai River. You can walk out your front door go 50 feet + or... More

We live in Alaska every summer (MatSu valley and Fairbanks) but this year we visited Krog's Kamp for the first time and had an amazing time. We stayed there as part of an Air Force reunion group of about 20 guests. Bob and Mel, and son, Eric Krogseng, made sure every guest's wishes were met and exceeded. The cabins were... More

My first trip to Krog's Kamp was back in 2002. It was the first trip I made with my young son after my divorce, and I was looking for a relaxing, bonding experience to heal my wounds and bring some closure to a dreadful experience. What I found was Mel and Bob Krogseng, their beautiful property right on the banks... More

I've been going to Krog's Kamp for over 15 years.I fish once a year and its always at Krog's.They make you an expert fisherman once you walk through their warm, front door. You immediately feel part of Mel and Bob's family and treated as such.I dreamed of taking my wife, daughter and son to Krog's one day and it finally happened. My family had... Great accommodations right on the Kenai River. Fishing gear and guides at the camp. Beautiful site on the river. Clean, modern cabins, with well equipped kitchens. All good memories and we hope to be able to come back soon.

I have dreamed of going to Alaska since I was 14 and had the amazing opportunity to celebrate my 53 birthday at Krog's Kamp on the Kenai River in Soldotna. Mel and Bob the owners of 35 years are incredible hosts as is their son Eric who insures your every comfort. I came as a 'client/guest' and left as a... More
