Had a wonderful time kayaking at this peaceful and quaint retreat. Mary Jane, Tony and Kyle went out of their way to ensure everything was perfect from scrumptious packed lunches to suggestions of where to paddle. We had perfect weather - kayaking in our t-shirts - and spent almost all of our time our on the water or relaxing in... More

Mary Jane Lastufka shared her interest and knowledge of tide pool life with us and our grandchildren aged 8 and 11. It was exactly the learning experience we wanted them to experience. It was a journey of discovery walking slowly along the beach. Mary Jane knew where to find the intertidal zone life we wanted to see. Thanks!

My husband and I had won a trip to stay here at Across the Bay. We feel in love with this place! It's so peaceful! The food were awesome! Mary Jane, Tony, and Kyle were super amazing. They told us stories about the volcanoes, mining, and even took us out on a kayak (sea kayak) we got to see porpoises,... More

What a fantastic experience, to be accomodated in a remote place like this, right at the beach with view of the sea and many otters. You get there by water taxi from the Homer Spit. The owners cook beautiful meals for all their guests and are more than welcoming and friendly. If you don't mind outhouses, than this is the... More

Glamping in Alaska! Tent cabins and outhouses - with a lovely location, good food, warm and friendly hosts. The sea kayaking was a highlight of our trip - as was sleeping next to the babbling creek. Aa was having coffee each morning, and happy hour each evening, in the gazebo - looking out over Kachemak Bay.

It was a magnificent weekend in the Kachemak Bay, Alaska and we spent it in a beautiful, charming and a bit quirky tent and breakfast setting. Tony and Mary Jane and their side kick Kyle were the best ! From making sure we were warm and cozy with blankets and pillows after we forgot our sleeping bags, to an amazing... More

Gearing up to take our water taxi over to the Tent and Breakfast, we were not sure exactly what to expect. The last couple weeks were spent camping either in established campgrounds or out in the bush. This bit of our adventure was to be a taste of luxury and MJ/Tony did not disappoint. They welcomed us with open arms... More

I stayed here for a couple of days while I was on a 15 day camping, hiking and kayaking trip around Alaska. I often think back to the trip and cannot wait until the time comes that I can go back and relive the experience. Great concept and great time. The hosts were wonderful, the food was good and we... What a great couple of nights. Tony was a wonderful host and great cook. The accomodation was comfortable. The sea kayaking an amazing experience - up nice and close to sea otters. I would not hesitate to go back to this place and certainly want to introduce people to this unique bay.

I very much enjoyed the people and the food was delicious. The kayaking trip also was much fun. However, I recommend you book a cabin, as the tents are pretty rustic and bare. Moreover, the smell of the outhouses takes a bit of getting used to. The bikes also were in need of repair.
