I stayed here for a few days in late July 2010 - great place! It's right off the main Alaskan highway and is perched atop a big hill with breathtaking views of the surrounding mountains (local road construction recently cleared more trees to open up the view even more). Karen, the owner, doesn't a super job in running the place.... More

Thank you for the very nice review! One point to clarify is that I make delicious sticky Monkey Bread and it doesn't involve any monkey parts! --Karen More

My wife and I stayed in one of the cottages for 7 nights and were happy with everything. The cottage was very nice and roomy and had a small stove and fridge in the kitchen/living room area. Breakfast was always good and always had good conversation with Karen and the other guests. Karen's husky little girl is a beautiful dog... More

My family and I stayed one night in Palmer at the Alaska Garden Gate. We had been touring Alaska in an RV and needed a home without wheels for a night. Karen's lovely home and bountiful breakfast was a perfect stopping point for us. We also enjoyed the lovely town of Palmer. My husband and I stayed in a new... More

We stayed at this B&B for 1 night in early August. The location was fantastic the B&B is set on a hill with nice views and in a lush, green pleasant setting. There is a nice view of the Knik Glacier from the lounge room. Our room was nicely decorated with a spa bath and a separate bathroom. There was... More

Stayed here after a 6 day backcountry camping trip and the new luxury cottage was great. Awesome view of Knik Glacier, nicely landscaped grounds, nice king sized bed, oversized jacuzzi tub, fireplace, sitting room and kitchen. Palmer is a great location, close to Anchorage, Hatcher's Pass and Talkeenta. Hot homemade breakfast included each day. Karen is a very friendly and... More

We had a fantastic stay at this B&B. We opted for the 8:30 breakfast. From oatmeal with fresh berries to ham and egg casserole the food was always delicious and plentiful. We stayed in the forest haven suite in the main house. The suite was spacious and comfortable. Location was very centrally located for day trips both north and south.... More

Our family had mixed feelings when it came to the Garden Gate. There were some really good things, and there were some things we really wish would have been different. First of all, the location truly was fantastic - outside the B&B was lush, green, and beautiful. No one was home when we arrived, but a letter had been left... More

I apologize that breakfast wasn't as delicious as they would have liked! The waffles are always fresh for each setting--I wish they would have mentioned that they'd like a different one so I could make more for them. On the sausages, I agree. I was trying a new turkey sausage in hopes of going lower-fat, but they were tough. Sorry.... More

This is a very clean and comfortable place. Nice view of a glacier. The only thing is that Karen makes you walk in your socks (no shoes allowed inside) and then your socks will get all the lose hair from the dog.

We stayed two nights at Karen's Alaska Garden Gate B&B. The room was large and tastefully decorated. Karen's breakfasts were delightful. She is a gracious and helpful hostess. Although we did not see any wildlife, other guests have reported seeing moose. We have stayed at many B&Bs and would rate this as one of the best! Linda & Jay

Was it the homemade gooey cinnamon rolls or the views that was the best? And my husband's a big guy, so it was great this wasn't a fussy place--nice leather sofas in the huge living room where we just sat and watched the mountains (who knew the view changed so much--it was like a movie outside), and the king bed...
