Amazing place to get away from the city. Hap and Carrie were so helpful and welcoming we will definitely be going back soon. They were incredibly accommodating and made sure we had everything we needed and that we were comfortable.

this was an emergency trip for my family a few days before Christmas. The heat went out in our home and we were freezing. With two guest staying at our home and two young children, we needed somewhere to go at 9:00 at night. I called hatcher pass lodge and the sweetest lady answered, she said we could have a... More

I went up with my wife for my 28th birthday and it was one of the most beautiful places I've ever been. We had a spectacular time, the cabin was cute yet simple, and the lodge was cozy. We stopped in Saturday evening after exploring the local area to have an Irish Coffee, and it was delicious. The help was... More

Simple but sufficient huts with great mountain and valley views. Nice lodge which served good food but $$$$$, consider bringing picking up some food in Palmer, can use the lodge fridge. Clean shared shower in lodge. Good access to hiking. Nice semi-'roughing it' experience.

We were delighted until we noticed the scores of bedbugs. I got hundreds of bites, which became red and swollen, with scars still present all over my body many weeks later. They had apparently tried once to get rid of them, and failed.

We stopped at this lodge for a coffee (unfortunately, they only have drip coffee). We sat down with our baby next to two men. One of them was really rude and, as a staff member later disclosed to us, was the owner of the lodge. He later moved away from us like we had the plague or something although we... More

You get a great view of he valley that Palmer is in. You are also 3 miles from Independence mines state historic park. The service was pretty good. The only thing is they messed up our room, but we got complimentary breakfast. I would recommend it to those who are staying for a night near Palmer

We had reservations to spend one night there and we were looking SO forward to it. I called and paid half payment for deposit. We left Talkeetna and were on our way when it started snowing so we kept on going. This was a winding road going up in elevation. The paved road ended and we still had 27 miles... More

Tiny rustic cabins perched on the hillside above the tree line in a gorgeous mountain pass. What more could you ask for? The whole place is very informal. It took us several calls to make a reservation because no one had "the book" when we called. We finally reserved a cabin for one night, and the place was so perfect... More

Our family of five spent one night at Hatcher Pass. Really cute cabins. Almost like nice camping w/ electricity, a sink and a chemical toilet which is better than no toilet. Restaurant was perfectly fine, pretty much one gentleman was our cook and our waiter, we were only ones in the place. Not cheap, but you feel very remote so... More
