I was with a large group of travelers and we each had rooms near each other. The rooms were comfortable and Steamer made our visit very pleasurable. Quiet rooms and a nice bar and fireplace in lounge. Would go back again if I have the chance. Kris Cassity was a fantastic group leader. He was very intelligent, funny, and a... More

We were thrilled with Steamer and his staff's hospitality during our stay. Food great, Kris' lectures wonderful, and I loved the 60s motel room. Gorgeous spot, nice bar and fireplace. Highly recommended.

My husband and I had arrived at midnight in Anchorage without our luggage! We had booked a room in Anchorage well in advance, however, waited until 3:00 a.m. for our luggage to arrive on subsequent flights, to no avail. Since out room in Anchorage wasn't available the next night, we decided to go online and find a place for the... More

My husband and I spent 2 nights here after our fishing trip in Seward. We had previously taken trips and stayed in Seward hotels but decided this time to have some adventure and try something new. It was the best decision we made. We had the best time meeting new friends in the lounge. The staff is amazing and eager... More

My wife and I stayed here for 3 nights as part of our Road Scholar program. We stayed in the hotel across the street from the main lodge/restaurant. Our room was located on the back side and did not have a view of the lake. We did not stay in our rooms very much so that was not an issue.... More

Yes, Sparkle Donkey... this was on the sign when we pulled into the parking lot. We could not resist and went in to ask... Sparkle Donkey is a Tequila shot and when you finish your shot they put a mark on your head with a glitter stick. We did not partake but we did witness it and it was a... More

My friends and I really enjoy coming here whenever we get the chance. From a bachelor weekend, to a nice drive to get out of town, Trail Lake has always proven to have great food, friendly service and a great Alaskan atmosphere. We are anxiously looking forward to our next trip down!

Wow!! What an amazing place!! If you want a taste of real Alaska stay here! Our room was comfortable and inviting. The views are breathless. We took a lot of pictures. The food is tasty! The owners, Steamer and Amy are a hoot and great conversationist. The prices are reasonable and the rooms are clean. I would definitely recommend this... More

The Lodge is pet friendly. However, if you are traveling with children or for some reason expect to get a restful nights sleep...BEWARE!!!!!!!!!!! They put in you in the room directly over the Bar. It is so loud when they have a band it sounds like the band is in the room with you. This goes on until the wee hours... More

I stayed here with the Road Scholar program. The only reason the motel was tolerable was because the speakers and activities with the Road Scholar program were so amazing. If I were traveling on my own, I would not stay here. The rooms are very small. The heating is poor. There is no place to put anything.
