I truly didn't know what to expect. But ....our 3.5 days were fantastic! The bear viewing tour only produced 1 bear. But we came across another young kodiak unexpectedly when returning to the main boat after a day of fly fishing. The fly fishing was so much fun I am now addicted and own 2 of my own rods. We... My wife ( Mary) and I spent a week at Raspberry Island and we cannot say enough good things about our stay. The Birch Family and lodge help were outstanding. I am not one who likes big and fancy resorts and large groups. This place was perfect. I would recommend this place to everyone. If you are looking for a... More

We've been to KRIRL 3 times and plan on visiting again. Although it is remote from a location perspective, you are not 'roughing' it in any way. I first visited with a fishing buddy but we now bring our wives along and they thoroughly enjoy the trip. The fishing has been terrific every time and we bring home a ton... More

We spent 6 days in mid-July at RIRL. The lodge is a 2 hour boat ride from Kodiak, during which you are treated to spectacular scenery and quick glimpses of abundant marine life. When you arrive at the lodge you can hardly believe such an enchanting little place could be found so far from almost anything. Hosts Birch and Tiffany,... More

Well, my significant other had been raving about Alaska for years, and I finally agreed to go. Kodiak Raspberry Island Remote Lodge was a great way for a sportsman and his more delicate companion to "meet in the middle". There was an abundance of fishing opportunities for him; and nature walks, photography, fly-out bear viewing, and peaceful kayaking for me.... More

My husband and I spent 5 days here, and we dream of returning as well. Perfect setting on the water, no boat traffic at all which added to the peace and quiet. During our kayaking day and also on our hiking day, we saw not one other person other than our wonderful competent guide Liz. On our fishing day, Birch... More

Our 4-night stay with Birch and Tiffany was the crowning touch on a dream vacation. Raspberry Island Remote Lodge was a fabulous place to visit - wonderful people, comfortable lodge, gorgeous location, delicious food and adventures every day! We are not fishermen but wanted outdoor experiences. Bear watching, hiking, kayaking, bird watching, beach combing, soaking in the hot tub, dreaming... More

Our visit to Raspberry Island Remote Lodge was our first experience in Alaska. While our focus was on fishing, we wanted to spend time enjoying the surroundings by doing other activities. Birch and Tiffany planned out a week for us that included deep sea fishing by boat, fly fishing for sockeye, crab fishing, bear viewing, kayaking, and hiking. We saw... More

Our trip to KRIRL was our first visit to Alaska and it far surpassed out wildest expections. We are already thinking about our next trip. Birch and Tiffany are the ultimate hosts and go out of their way to make you feel comfortable and treat you like family. Fishing was great and even if it hadn't been we would have... More

This was our second time here and first with the second generation owners, Birch and Tffany. We had a blast. Accomodations are first class, staff was friendly and helpful, food was fantastic along with the beer and wine and the fishing was unbelievable. Birch found this amazing river and on our first day six of us limited out on Silver... More
