My Alaska Airlines flight to Juneau from Ketchikan / Seattle ended up going back to Ketchikan (the 630PM seattle flight) -- so I went on GoGo wireless to book a hotel for the night - the Super 8 and the Gilmore came up. I just briefly scrolled through the reviews thinking it would be OK, considering I'll be saving about... More

This historic hotel has all the charm you might expect! The standard rooms are comfortable for one or two people and have private baths. They've added a few modern amenities (TV, blow-dryer, coffee maker), but not so much as to overpower the historic feel. The rooms are heated with radiators, so there's the occasional clank of a pipe, but it... More

My fiancé and I stayed at the Gilmore, along with our closest family and friends for our wedding in Ketchikan. What a great experience! The hotel itself was very charming. The rooms were comfortable with details designed to highlight the historic building. The staff was very friendly and honestly went above and beyond to ensure everyone was comfortable and having... The location is great; but, it's rather run down. The maid service left much to be desired. Our room was in the back of the hotel on the third floor and was dimly lit and musty-smelling. The bathroom must have been added after the original construction because it was the smallest bathroom possible. The windows looked out to another structure... More

My friend and I visited Ketchikan in July, and we needed a room in town. The Gilmore Hotel was our first pick based on price and location. I've read some of the reviews on here, and I honestly don't understand what some people are complaining about. There is no A/C (just open the windows!), it's an old hotel (quite charming,... More

As other viewers have noted, the Gilmore is old (built in 1927), the rooms are small, there is no air conditioning... This is all true, but if you want a room downtown there are very few choices. Over 95% of visitors to Ketchikan bring their rooms with them on cruise ships. Some tips on the Gilmore--the rooms in front can... More

5 of us traveled to Ketchikan on the start of our 2 week Alaska journey. We enjoyed the short ferry ride across the river from the airport. Got a taxi to town and settled in at the Gilmore. We all liked the old fashioned decor and that it has charm- not a new plastic trendy place. Our beds were comfy,... More

If you go to Ketchikan do not stay here!!!!!!! I'm so chewed up and just returned home and have taken 3 showers and still feel nasty! The staff is very warm and welcoming and enjoyed that but the rooms are very dark and unwelcoming. I do understand it's an old building but they really need to upgrade everything and that... More

We at The Gilmore Hotel and Annabelle's are sorry you did not enjoy your stay with us, I personally had several conversations with you but unfortunately none of them during your entire stay was on the subject of bugs or poor service in our restaurant. I personally tried to contact you after reading the review you posted, I even tried... More

If you're looking for a traditional hotel with a cookie cutter room and bathroom, standard entryway and maybe a pool, this isn't the place for you. But, if you want to stay in one of the oldest standing buildings in Alaska, right near the heart of town, on top of a wonderful pub, this is the place for you. I... More

The rooms are time-worn and small, but the location is great, and the staff was super-friendly and helpful. Above-average breakfast, and having Annabelle's on the premises made up for the negatives. I would stay here again.
