My wife and I stayed here for three nights and I feel so lucky NOT to have gone for Best Western or any other hotel in the downtown area, which is what the organizers of my conference had recommended. Black Bear Inn is right at the water front about three miles (five minutes) away from town. A short walk to... More

We had a delightful stay at Black Bear Inn! I've had two previous rather unpleasant stays at other places in Ketchikan - paying just a bit more was oh so worth it at the Black Bear Inn. Lovely hosts (both human and two super cute dogs), gorgeous house, wonderful outdoor area (huge patio right by the channel with hot tub).... More

My sister and I stayed at the Black Bear Inn for 2 weeks at the end of April. This was our warm nest during a rainy and cold period of time. Everything you could possibly need has been thoughtfully provided. The rooms are beautifully and comfortably decorated, the beds are so comfortable, and the fireplace kept us warm. My husband... The Black Bear Inn is the place you want to stay in Ketchikan, Alaska. The property sits on a little hill overlooking the ocean and mountains just north of town. The place is incredibly clean and wonderfully decorated with native artworks. You will wake up well rested after sleeping in the clean and comfortable beds. The property is immaculately groomed... This is a lovely Inn in Ketchikan. Nicole and Jim are welcoming and very helpful. A special bonus is their 2 adorable dogs Bella & Tilly-bears! They have thought of every possible need for their visitors and the grounds are beautiful. A perfect lakefront Inn!

My husband and I planned this trip for our delayed honeymoon. We both work in very busy and often high-stress environments and were looking for a getaway that would allow us to unplug from our scheduled life and somewhat decompress. The Black Bear Inn and Ketchikan off-season were PERFECT! We stayed in the Raven's Haven and took complete advantage of... More

Read this review! My three colleagues and I stayed at the Black Bear Inn in late March 2015. The accommodations, the grounds, the staff and everything about this Inn was magnificent. Let's start with the accommodations: Each room was well appointed with all of the comforts a traveler needs to include soft pillow-top beds, fireplaces and amazing views of the... More

As a resident of Ketchikan, I am always looking for a "staycation", a place that will make me feel like I'm visiting another area and the Black Bear Inn is that place for myself and my husband. We've stayed twice (hoping it's going to be three soon, HINT! HINT! HUSBAND!) and each time we've chosen The Eagles Nest. It's so... More

Jim and I want to thank you for your very kind words about the Black Bear Inn. It is wonderful to learn that our local guests enjoy our place as much as we do. When we started building the Inn, back in 2005, it was our hope that locals would see us as their 'home away from home' and would... More

I'm so remiss in writing this review. It's now almost November and we stayed at the Black Bear Inn back in July for four (4) nights with another couple. Let me tell you not just how wonderful this place is, but how great Nicole is as well. We haven't stayed at a lot of B&Bs, so this was new to... More

Thank You So Much for the very kind review. Ketchikan is on a beautiful Island filled with friendly, interesting, and talented people offering outstanding tour activities. It is my pleasure to assist our guests with there adventure planning and to make sure that their trip is everything that they hoped for. Jim and I are indeed gratified when people tell us... More

After traveling from the east coast to Alaska and being dropped off at the Black Bear Inn, we were hoping for a warm welcome and shown to our room to relax. We were dropped off at the wrong door (how did we know) and greeted with a "Who are you?". After dragging our luggage around the building to the correct... More

I wish you had not judged our Inn on what seemed like an unfriendly greeting from me. I know I was cleaning rooms when you arrived and I do remember being surprised to see people coming through the back yard from the service road, dragging their bags in the rain. I wondered why anyone would drop our guests off out... More
