Spent a few nights there this past August. Excellent accommodations with gracious host, Nicole & Jim Church. Grounds & amenities were superb, breakfast was enjoyable. Rates were competitive. Great conversations and excellent recommendations for activities & restaurants. Turned out my brother stayed there back in 2008 and had similar experience.

We cannot thank Nicole and Jim enough! We had booked another fishing experience that ended up with negetive reviews and decided we were going to abort that trip and look for something else. So thru Trip Advisor, I called Black Bear Inn and talked to Nicole who helped us book fishing trips and all you can eat crap dinners.... And... More

First, Nicole and Jim were fabulous! We loved staying at their B and B and it had beautiful views, great beds, and a wonderful way to do breakfast. We loved that we didn't have to have breakfast at a specific time - they always had fresh fruit, many cereals, bagels, eggs, English muffins, etc. etc. We LOVED being able to... More

We truly enjoyed our visit to Ketchikan. We had a busy itenerary which included sea kayaking, float plane touring and catching Alaska Marine Ferry in the middle of the night. Thanks to Nicole and Jim's serve yourself breakfast we were able to put together a light " to go" breakfast to take with us for the ferry. Nicole did make... More

Managed to get a cancellation and very glad we did!. Great room with view over the water with float planes and ferries, Very comfortable with very posh bathroom! Breakfast was self service with a very wide choice of cereals, breads, eggs, everything you could want. To get around you need a car which Nicole will organise for you. Otherwise cab... More

We had a great stay. Nicole did a wonderful job of outlining and scheduling a number of fun things for us to do. They were available for anything we needed but let us keep to ourselves and have a great anniversary week

We flew into Ketchikan two days before we were to depart on a cruise. It is about 4 miles from the ferry so you need to catch a cab (about $15) to get there. Jim met us and showed us to our room which had a beautiful view of the ocean. Breakfast is serve yourself style but there were many... More

We had a great stay on our first trip to Ketchikan. We stayed in the Bunkhouse cottage (myself and my daughter). It was really well equiped with a nice little kitchen stocked with plenty of supplies - especially hot chocolate and oatmeal which were really appreciated when we can back after cycling in the famous Ketchikan rain! The Inn is... More

Yes,we were greeted with keeping our shoes off, but being the typical wet day, we totally understood. Nicole may seem a bit like a Mama bear, but it's truly in your best interest. She definitely wants to make your trip to Ketchikan a time to remember. Nicole and Jim are wonderful hosts, aiding in any adventure you wish to do.... More

We stayed in the Bunkhouse, a comfortable room with its own kitchenette. We were very happy to cook our own breakfasts with the ingredients provided by Nicole and to visit the local supermarket, about five minutes drive away, for our evening dinners. We really enjoyed the 4th July parade in the town and Nicole was most helpful in suggesting local... More
