Just so everyone knows...The Merit Inn serves as the local homeless shelter and is usually filled with families. In the summer they leave a few rooms empty and attempt to function as a hotel. First of all when I booked my room I was told it was $69 a night but when I got there I was charged $99 a night, went up to my room. It was the worst place I have ever seen, There was mold around the bathtub and the surround around the tub was sticking out, I'm sure that was... More

My husband and I were charged $98 for one night's stay. Upon first entering the room, I realized that we were overcharged for this stay. First of all, the room did not smell clean, it reminded me of a dirty ashtray. The curtains were half torn from the curtain rod and wouldn't even pull shut......I had to use a safety... More

Stayed two nights with my 19-year-old son while Salmon fishing on the Kenai and Kasilof Rivers. Decent place except for the bathroom floors. Rotted wood near shower/ tub was ugly. Beds were comfortable and that was important. Just a good place to sleep and get cleaned up between fishing trips.

Most everything else around was booked and I wanted a room at the last minute. The room was very large with 2 beds, dresser, TV, table, 2 chairs, fridge, microwave, and coffee with maker. 2nd floor with big windows overlooking the parking lot. Heavy curtains with paperclips/safety pins still attached to them from previous people trying to close them. Overall... More
