This facility is old and in need of updating. The room was large and clean, bathroom ok but needs modern furnishings. The TV was an old tube type, maybe 18" screen. I had to sit on the edge of the bed to view anything. I had originally booked a 3 night stay, my plans changed and I only stayed 1... More

You will not be dissappointed with your stay here. It is a great hotel with some of the best staff that I have ever encountered in all of Alaska! The front desk greets you with the most genuine and warm welcome and really go out of their way to make your stay one of the best. There is also a... More

Great location and decent room. Exercise bike? and the smallest TV I have seen in years. What was the real kicker is that the receptionist had THE WORST attitude. When we asked for things to do she told us the only thing to do was to go to the movies. She also shared that she did not like Juneau and... More

I recently stayed the weekend at the Goldbelt with my family of four. Although the staff was friendly, we found the hotel way overpriced for what you get. The rooms and common areas were very outdated (old wallpaper, linens, an outdated bathroom, etc...). It was probably quite nice 15 years ago, but is now in desperate need of a remodel.... More

I stayed at this hotel for 2 nights. The first room I was given was ok, except for the fact that the door kept unlocking itself (key-card type door). The first time, the manager replaced the batteries, re-keyed the door, and gave me a new key. Three hours later, at 9 p.m., the whole thing happened again. The maintenance person,... More

I usually stay at the Baranof but it was full. I had never stayed at Goldbelt so thought what the heck. I would describe the Goldbelt as an embarassemnt to the Native corporation that owns it. The carpet in the entire place is stained. The glue has dried and the carpet in the hallways crunched as I walked, the wall... More

Juneau doen't have many offerings and I'd say this was basic but clean. It's located directly accross the street from the cruise ships and the views a great. The hotel is used as a hospitality location for some cruise lines and is crazy busy when dropping off or picking up passangers. The staff is friendly and helpful. I appreciated the... More

Rundown older hotel, as other reviews accurately describe. Great location and overpriced because of this. Would try and find better options next time. Nothing terrible but nothing to redeem it either. We skipped the hotel as a breakfast option and went to the great Sandpiper cafe instead.

Pros: hands down, the view (our son LOVED watching the sea planes take off over and over!); proximity to downtown; Tim the shuttle driver (had a great personality, super friendly, very knowledgeable) Cons: price ($188/night and it doesn't even have a mini fridge in the room??), the windows were NOT toddler friendly (opened from the bottom, with no safety latches... Thin walls but clean and spacious rooms. Hot water took forever to arrive but when it did, it was certainly hot enough. Staff try to be friendly and helpful (shuttle driver was actually helpful) but surprisingly some of the front desk staff had no clue about what should be trivial questions e.g. When does the bus to the glacier start...
