I came to Juneau for business, and then stayed a little longer for pleasure. I styed at the Baranof for the business portion of my stay and this hotel, in my opinoin, is similar, yet nicer than the Baranof. The room at Goldbelt was bigger, felt cozier. Not sure if they're all like that. The halls and elevator seemed more... more

Room facing harbor was fine, great view from 4th floor. Service was OK, manager helpful about giving us ride to private boat harbor. Dinner in Zen (?) restaurant was excellent (black cod)! Handy location to downtown- easy walk to museum, stores, restautants etc. more

Very pleasurable experience with courteous and helpful staff. Restaurant was closed for a private group so unable to evaluate. Rooms had double beds instead of queens so plan accordingly. Otherwise, clean rooms, allowed early check-in and late check-out, stored baggage, and had free 24-hour airport shuttle. Very accomodating. more

Despite its prime downtown location and price, the Goldbelt fails to deliver fully with a consistent, high-quality performance. The property is showing its age, although the rooms are relatively clean and functional. With one or two notable exceptions, we perceived an air of indifference from front desk staff. After walking up to our room at the end of a long... more

The home base of America West Tours, seemed like reason enough to stay at the Goldbelt. We came in early by two days due a change in cruise date, and an error on my part, and I considered taking a slightly cheaper place to stay, but I am glad I did not. Certainly, it is not an attractive place with... more

There is construction next door for a parking garage so best to be on the other end of the building. Hotel is older and is in need of renovation but location is great you can walk to all the stores. The best part of the hotel is the staff is very friendly and helpful plus free transport to and from... more

We stayed here one night at the end of a Cruise West Inside Passage trip. The location of this hotel is very good. It is within walking distance of eateries and sites. There is really nothing special about this hotel. We ate at the Hangar. Had a great window seat view. Food was very good. more

I wish this hotel were better. The location is fine, there is only one other decent hotel in Juneau for competition, but the Goldbelt just falls short. The restaurant was not open for breakfast, the young staff (except for housekeeping and a "senior" person at the reception desk) clearly would like to be elsewhere, and the rooms look and feel... more

Eh. Nothing too great to say about this hotel, other than the location is hard to beat. The rooms are outdated, and ours smelled like smoke. But other than that, passable. One gripe I had was that we sent TWO emails asking about airport shuttle and if the hotel would hold our baggage on the day we checked out, and... more

We stayed at the Goldbelt the day before and the day after our small-ship cruise out of Juneau. The hotel is very conveniently located to downtown and the boat docks. The manager Dave really cares and took care of any problems we had as best he could (including a partial refund of our first night's room cost). The rest of... more
