Most reviews are fairly accurate, realizing everyone has a difference experience. We were there 5 days later in August. Positives- Very reasonable rate for Juneau. Basic, clean rooms. Our towels were terrific! A big bar of Dial soap. The shuttle was right on time both for arrival and departure from JNU. The Sandpiper Cafe, for breakfast and lunch, is wonderful...right... More

We were stopping in Juneau en route to Haines and were looking for somewhere cheap but decent. Originally we wanted to stay at the local hostel, but needed a shuttle to get to and from the ferry terminal in Auke Bay multiple times and ended up choosing to stay here instead. The first time the shuttle service was fine, but... More

We arrived on Fri morning 8/22/14. The front desk folks are apathetic and could care less about "customer service". They told us our room would be ready in the afternoon (which is fine)....but we just flew in and needed to use a restroom - the girl at the desk told us there was not a public restroom and suggested we... LOCATION The location was great, a few blocks from downtown attractions and near bus station making it easy to get to Mendenhall Glacier, but just far enough away from the cruise ship chaos. Near supermarket, deli and liquor store. A fair distance from ferry terminal and airport, but the lodge provides a free shuttle so this is not really an... More

The hotel is beside a major city construction zone and the walls shake when the bull dozers start work at 0700hrs each morning. Staff are rude and obnoxious and are not interested at all in helping you or fixing any problems. They don't know the meaning of customer service. Would advise the steer clear of!!!!!

One of the supposed attractions of this place is the complimentary shuttle which, if it operated as advertised, would make it a good value as the taxi fare from the airport or the ferry terminal is a sky-high $35. We arrived by evening ferry from Skagway at 9:30 PM, called the hotel immediately upon landing and were told the shuttle... More

Good location, but major construction is ongoing and into 2016. The noise started shortly after 7 AM and goes on 7 days a week. Cranes, front loaders and dump trucks operated under our window blowing dust in and making it difficult to talk on the phone. Management was unwilling to make any accommodations and didn't have even basic amenities such... More

We were at the Driftwood for four nights. We flew into Juneau and spent two nights there. We then took a shuttle to the ferry terminal to go to Skagway for one night. From Skagway we took an overnight ferry to Sitka for a one night stay there. We returned via ferry to Juneau and spent another night at the... More

We stayed in this hotel for 3 days, in one of the 1 bedroom suites, on the 3rd floor. There was free, timely transportation to and from the airport. It's not a fancy hotel, but had what we needed for our stay. It was quite comfortable, and with the kitchenette, we were able to prepare some meals. The only detriment... More

My stay at the Driftwood Hotel was ok. The shuttle service from and back to the ferry was punctual (and also free). There is also possibility to do your laundry. The room was clean and spacious with free wifi. The mattress of my bed was not very comfortable and felt rather old (with "pits").
