This hotel has different rates for different floors. If you want to pay the lower rate, you are on the 2nd floor. Ask for an outside room - the inside rooms look out onto the roof. Industrial looking. Plus the windows are accessible from anyone on the roof. Also, they sold us tickets on a Monday for the tram up... More

I know it is remote but it also isn't 1970. Really could do with an update, but based off trip advisor photos it is not the only place in need of some work. Service wasn't awesome either. Close to everything down town. Restaurant at least looked ok with things like Alaskan crab risotto.

Bathrooms have historic charm, yet are clean and updated. Kitchens need major overhaul...old, old, old. Beds are nice. Carpet is dark, so you can see dust in corners and along baseboards where vacuums can't reach.

The entire team strives to make your stay comfortable and nice. I travel on business and find this hotel to have superior customer service. The front desk people take the time to ensure that my stay was both productive and pleasant. For someone who like to be at home taking the time to know my first name and the type... More

We were a little worried about staying here after some of the reviews we read. We stayed two nights before our cruise. We had no problem with noise other than the ravens in the morning. We stayed on the second floor in the back of the hotel and our bathroom had been updated. Rooms are small but how much time do... More

We stayed for 2 nights before our cruise a couple of weeks ago, and thought what a funky old hotel in a perfect location. The service was excellent, really friendly staff, food was good too. We highly recommend the Baranoff.

This place is badly in need of total refurbishment. It is tired beyond belief. Wallpaper is old and shabby. Everything gives the impression of being worn out. A Starbucks is coming here, but I cannot fathom why. Avoid hotel unless and until it gets total makeover.

Although acclaimed as one of the better hotels in Juneau, the Baranoff falls far short of the mark as an "upscale" hotel. Sadly, many of the cruise lines appear to have contracted with this hotel for overnight stays prior to embarking. The lobby is nice, although the staff came off as aloof and unconcerned about much of anything. The wallpaper... More

I would like to thank the Baranof Hotel Management and Staff for helping us hold a wonderful convention June 23-27, 2014. The food, which we all know makes or breaks an event was outstanding. ALL of the service be it from the front desk, housekeeping, food staff, maintenance personnel, regional sales manager were wonderful in the service they provided. The... More

By far one of the worst hotels I've stayed in with the worst customer service. To top it off I checked in to our room only to find a huge crater sized dip on one side of the bed. Immediately called the front desk and asked to be moved to a different room with a decent bed. I was told... More

I am so sorry you had a bad experience with our hotel. We were in the process of taking the bed out of room 909 and have now replaced the bed. I know you were waiting for our phone call and by the time we had the bed in the service elevator and had switched your room, you had checked... More
