The only thing going for this hotel is they will take pets. Where do I start on this dump? The missing and water stained ceiling tiles, the dirty chair in the room, the musty smell throughout the hotel or the dirty bathrooms. The Wi-Fi not working pales in comparison to the others.

Dear Guest, Thank you for your response and I apologize that your stay was not what you had hoped for. Please note that after a very busy summer we are making needed updates to the property. Including replacing the whole hot water supply line that you pictured, it runs the entire hallway ceiling and started having issues late in the... More

First off, poor customer service. We booked a room via Expedia, had some good and bad reviews. Was told by a local that the hotel was under new management and had greatly improved. I don't see how. We stayed in a mountain view room, upgraded from a garden room. I would have totally freaked out if I got stuck in... More

First off let me state that we got upgraded to a nicer room than we booked. I booked one of the "basement" rooms, which review poorly, off an on-line booking agency because I wanted something cheap. When we got there we had a view room on the 4th floor, so my review is probably going to be skewed to the... More

It can be difficult to find an economical hotel in Juneau that meets your expectations. This hotel provides large, clean rooms at reasonable rates (for Alaska). We were lucky enough to get a very good rate on Expedia, which was way under other rates for hotels in the area. It is within walking distance from downtown, which is also convenient.... More

Very disappointing. Don't believe the pictures. I stayed with my family of five adults. We broke up our stay,1 night at Prospector, 2 nights in Skagway and 2 nights back at the Prospector. We booked a suite for five, months in advance. The first night was a suite. When we left the first time we confirmed the suite again. When... More

I stayed at here as part of a class trip. I was placed in room 115. It was in the basement. THe room wreaked of Cigarette smoke. I contacted the front desk and they said they were full and there was nothing they could do. Inside the room had sagging and stained acoustic ceiling tiles, no alarm clock, no iron... More

I attended the AK Library Association Conference in Juneau this past weekend and selected The Prospector Hotel from a list of accommodations provided by the AkLA. It was near the top of the list. I chose it after reviewing its website, conference pricing, and nearness to the convention center. I was pleased on all counts. The room was homey and... More

There are many other accommodations in Juneau from hotels to bed and breakfasts, any experience would be better than the accommodations and customer service provided at the Prospector. I had arranged for six employees of my organization to stay at the Prospector Hotel due to its location in Juneau. Upon the second day of their stay, three of the six... More

Hotel is clean, rooms are quite large, restaurant food very good and beer is the coldest in Juneau.

My wife and I travel often to the Junea area and have always stayed by the airport. Looking to make a change to a room in town we chose the Prospector. Our first night was OK, room was decent and staff friendly. We had made reservation a month and a half prior to our stay for the beginning and end... More
