I had the great fortune of traveling in Alaska for work and since it was Summer and days were long, we worked ALOT. All I wanted was a clean room, a decent bed to rest for a bit and a bit of coffee in the morning. As my colleagues and I checked in, the manager announced that one of the... More

My son's fiancé accompanied me on a business trip to Juneau in August. When we got to the hotel, the desk clerk told us that the comforters weren't on the bed, they were folded up in the closet because after the first night, the last guests requested that they be removed. Our thought - do they wash them!? Then he... More

So, this is a very average motel. Nothing fancy. No special amenities. Nothing special. It serves its purpose which is to have a place to keep your stuff and sleep at night. The good: It's close to downtown. Just a 5 min. walk to Main Street which is the edge of the downtown area. The price was reasonable, although it... More

We stayed in one of the Waterwing Suites. The room was huge, clean, and comfortable with a great view of the harbor. We liked having a dining space in the room so we didn't have to go out to eat every meal. We ordered room service once, and the food arrived quickly. It wasn't gourmet but a good meal and... More

Stayed one night Sept 5, 2014. This hotel is in a great location, the staff is friendly and accodomating, but the hotel is in need of an upgrade. The room was large and clean but very run down. It's too bad, because this could be great rather than average. A few things such as paint, new carpet and fixing the... More

My wife stayed here while waiting for the cruise ship to arrive next day --- nice centrally located hotel.. The male front desk staff person was very helpful and described things to do in detail. The lady at the front desk could have smiled a little bit more. Old fashioned looking but nice. Huge washrooms and big room.

I lived in Juneau for four years, but moved back to Texas in 2008. This is my first trip back to Juneau in 6 years. I had stayed at The Prospector Hotel in the past and was always pleased with my rooms and service. This stay from September 12 - 15, 2014 was exceptional! We stayed in a Water view... More

This hotel far exceeded my expectaions! The room was huge with updated furnishings, carpets, paint. The view was partially of the harbor...beautiful! no traffic noise at all from the street. Rodney at the desk was extremely helpful assisting me with the public transportation system ( which is easy to use and plentiful) and suggestions for sightseeing. Jennifer was the manager... More

First, I would like to say the rooms themselves weren't terrible, they were sizable and decently clean. However, I have NEVER encountered such a rude employee. The general manager was rude, unhelpful and didn't even pretend to be good at her job. She had tons of attitude and made the entire check in and out experience terrible. The room was... More

Big rooms. Still use keys instead coded cards. Could not adjust temp in room. Good thing we were cold. It was hot. It needed updating. Only one set of pillows. Staff was friendly and helpful. Great location to downtown. Parking tight.
