Spent 4 nights at the Driftwood Inn in Old Town Homer. I chose the smaller Shipsquarter Rooms on the bay side of the hotel, because of their affordable price and location just across the street from a path to the beach. The room was small (as promised), but comfortable and all that I needed traveling solo. The bathroom was clean,... More

When you first pull up, you Think the place is old and run down, but it is not. They have taken a house next door and turned it into a hotel. The views are great and it is located close to everything. This is the seaside lodge portion of the hotel.... The rooms are great, except no ac, but you... More

Certainly nothing fancy. Concerned that the expiration on the fire extinguisher was out of date and I am sure pretty that the smoke detector in the ceiling was more than 10 years old. It is recommended that they were replaced every 5 years. For an older building that didn't require sprinklers when built those items should be kept up to... More

Dear Michele, Our fire extinguishers are inspected annually every May and every single room is equipped with a smoke detector which batteries are changed annually and tested monthly. I wish you would have asked us at the front desk and we could have shown you how to read the tag on the fire extinguishers and/or tested your smoke detector with... More

We spent a night July 19 in this cute hotel in the old downtown of Homer. It was set up to look and feel like a cabin on a ship. The beds were comfortable and it had everything we needed in a very small space. The woman who checked us in came to the room and showed us exactly how... More

This was by far the best looking lodging we had in our nine days driving around Alaska. The Seaside Lodge was the former home of a successful doctor and family, before they got divorced. The Driftwood Inn family bought it, as it was adjacent to their motel-like property, and they operate it as part of their property. So, each family... More

We stayed in one of the ship's quarters rooms on the ocean side. It has a "peek-a-boo" view of the ocean. As advertised, the room was tiny, but it was fine for my wife and me. The room was clean, and our only complaint was a lack of amenities. There was no soap, other than liquid hand soap, and no... More

It was very charming. The beds were comfortable and The room was very clean. Keurig coffee machine and assorted coffees in the room. We had a great view of the ocean from our room. It didn't come with complimentary breakfast, but if you wanted to purchase something It was very cheap.

Spent only one night at the hotel and one day of fishing but well worth the trip down to Homer. Nice, clean, quiet with everything you need. A good bed, and hot coffee in the early morning (just not a breakfast included) but close to places to eat. Fishing charter was great - caught a ton of salmon and halibut.... More

The Driftwood Inn was an enjoyable part of our short visit to Homer. Our upstairs room in the Inn was clean, bright, and a tight fit. Although the room was equipped with a bunk bed, there was no safety rail on the top bunk and the room was really too small for more than two people. There is room for... More

Our spacious upstairs room in the Bluffview Lodge overlooked the beach with a great view of the surrounding water and mountains. We had a balcony to sit on and enjoy the view. Downstairs was a refrigerator, toaster, etc. A wonderful place to spend three nights.
