Our family had a great stay in the Moose Den cabin of Highliner house. This cabin has a full kitchen (small, but very complete), one bedroom down and a loft with 3 beds. Having the extra room here was great after coming from a cramped hotel in Seward. The cabin is well appointed and had everything we needed. The view... More

As always we stay with Marcia at the Highliner House. Marcia is very hospitable and makes sure that we have what we need....starting to feel like we are part of her family. The cabins all have incredible views of Kachemak Bay, and she can put you in a cabin that best suits your needs for the number of people in... More

We just returned from spending 5 nights in the Whalesong cabin. We were welcomed warmly by Marcia who was friendly and accommodating in every way. The views from the cabin were amazing! The views of the bay and glaciers were unforgettable. The cabin was very comfortable with nice touches...making you feel at home. Communication with Marcia prior to our arrival... More

We recently stayed in the Moose Den and couldn't have asked for a better experience. Our host was fantastic and very hospitable. We spent 3 nights in Homer to do some halibut fishing to cap off a 9 day trip and loved it. Thanks, Marcia. We will see you next year!

During our 11 week long road trip this was the most disappointing lodging in AK. First, during our check-in in the main house where innkeepers live, the man, I guess he was an innkeeper, had a TV on so loud we could hardly hear him. But we understood his first words “What credit card you want to use?.“ When swiping... More

I am sorry to hear that your stay with us was unsatisfactory. We do appreciate your feedback and take your comments very seriously. We take great pride in making sure that our units are very clean and I assure you that the stove is cleaned after each guest and leftover condiments and packaged foods are sometimes left for the benefit... it's a little drive up the mountain to get the the Highliner House, but worth every bit of it. Our cabin was the middle one with an incredible view of the water. I had specifically looked for a cabin with cooking facilities as we had hoped to cook halibut from the fishing trip planned for earlier in the day. Not... More

Highliner House has a great view and I must say that is all that it has going for it. Of all the accomodations that we stayed at during the last 2 1/2 weeks this is the only place that we did not feel welcome. The hosts were not friendly as most of the people we had meet. We did not... More

We are sorry that your stay with us was less than satisfactory and that you considered us unfriendly. The best part of this business is visiting with our guests and sharing our love of Homer and it's attractions. I really am stunned and truly sorry that we gave you such an unpleasant impression. We are in the process of replacing... More

We stayed at the Moose Den at the Highliner House for 5 nights in June of 2010. The owner, Marcia Boone, was terrific. The captain she recommended put me on huge halibut. She also let me borrow a a book by a local author that highlighted 50 great hikes in the area. We completed 3 of the hikes during our... More

We stayed in the Whalesong cabin on our 2 day stay in Homer. What a beautiful place and wow what a view. We thought it was the best place that we stayed at during our trip to Alaska. If we are ever to return we will diffently stay there again and hopefully for a few more days.
