we spent one night in homer at the lands end resort and stayed on the third floor in a corner room. the bed was comfortable and the shower was good with good water pressure, but the entire hotel is extremely outdated (think early 80s with brass, mauve and baby blue). the view of the mountains and water was gorgeous. the... more

This "resort" was much less than expected. We had planned on staying two nights, but cancelled the second. The hotel is on the very end on the spit, it seemed like a good location, but the sense of a resort faded when you looked out the front window and see an industrial lot of fuel tanks and trucks. Yes the... more

We stayed at Land's End Resort in July 2006. It was a wonderful trip! The hotel is at the very end of the Homer Spit and is in a nice location for walking to the harbor and to the many shops in the area. The hotel has a very nice restaurant, "The Chart Room." Everything on the menu is divine!... more

we visited the Land's End on Homer spit in October (ie out of season). Most of the facilities on the spit had closed down for the season and the hotel was fairly quiet. That suited us down to the ground! We had a sea facing room with a balcony from where we watched seals and sea otters only a few... more

Spectacular view of eagles, river otters and the glaciers and bay. You felt you were at the end of something, actually the end of the Homer Spit. A very unique experience at the end of a Unique state. Room had a little terrace and was relatively small. We had dinner one night there and it was the king best crab... more

My husband and I happened on this hotel by chance, because I am sure had we made reservations on the net, it would have been much cheaper. For the price we were NOT impressed. The room was small and dated. The king bed was extremely hard, with two worn divets on either side and a hill in the middle. I... more

Stayed at the Land's End for the last few days of a week-long journey to Alaska. Overall, this was an amazing place! Rooms The rooms weren't huge, but they were very functional. Bathrooms a little small, but how much time do you spend there anyway? We upgraded to an ocean view room and had a small balcony --- it's a... more

This was my least-favorite hotel of the trip, yet still the best option in Homer, so I would have to recommend it for that reason alone. I had problems with them from the beginning with making my reservation. I never received a confirmation, yet my credit card was charged with the deposit. We first booked the cheapest room (which was... more

Lands end is a great place to stay on the spit. Right at the end of the spit, it's like being out in the middle of the bay. The hotel is nice, but not exceptional. you are paying for the view and location. The rooms are a tad small, but open the windows and listen to the sound of the... more

Booked and prepaid for a 1 night stay. We booked the King - View room, other traveling couple booked the less expensive city (parking lot) view. Our room was great -- husband asked why the other couple got such a bad room -- I said they opted to save some $$ and essentially got what they paid for. The hotel... more
