I have stayed in many hotels and B&B's in my travels. The Guardhouse is the best place I have stayed in in a long time. Not only was my accommodation comfortable it also exceeded my expectations. The photos on their site do not do it justice. My bed was so comfortable that I could have stayed in it all day.... More

The room was not to bad at all, the TV CHANNELS WERE PLENTIFUL FOR THE KIDS, slightly expensive but good central location. The breakfast however was pretty scary, green and hairy, Coffee was slightly cold.

The Alaska Guardhouse is located on the grounds of Fort Seward in Haines, up the hill from the waterfront, so it affords a nice view of the harbor. But look the other way and see the mountains, too! Phyllis and Joanne are great people, helpful, nice to sit around and talk to, and willing to share their knowledge of Haines... More

What a wonderful stay we had at the Guardhouse B&B in the historic Fort Seward area of Haines. Joanne and Phyllis really went the extra mile to make sure that our stay was comfortable and that we did not miss the beautiful sights and scenery of the peaceful Haines area. Our room was very spacious and the bed super comfortable.... More

We loved staying at the Guardhouse. Accommodations were great, and what made it extra special was the friendliness of Phyllis and Joanne. We enjoyed sharing their house with the family, and sitting out on the spacious deck having a nice dinner of cheese, crackers, and wine. Phyllis offered to drive us back to the Ferry dock, but had a conflict.... More

This has been such a amazing place to stay! The owners are ao kind and make you feel like your at home! They even played games with my kids and let us cook food so we didn't have to eat out. They made us feel like we were with family! I really hope to be able to come back!

We stayed at the Guardhouse in mid-Sept. The hosts are very friendly and accommodating. The rooms feel like a nice hotel. The rest of the house is spacious with a large deck. Absolutely lovely. The view is breathtaking as well. We'd stay again.

We stayed for a week and I have to say it was like staying with family. The owners Phyllis and Joanne welcomed us in to their home and made us feel so welcome and comfortable. We stayed for a week and hated having to leave. The rooms are clean, spacious and have comfy beds. Our room had 2 queen beds,... More

We stayed one night and really liked our room. The owner greeted us and made us feel comfortable. The room had 2 large queen beds, table, fridge, tv, internet access, and bathroom. The room was very roomy and nicely decorated. The bathroom was tastefully decorated. Cereal, toast, home-made english muffins, bananas, coffee were offered and included in our stay. We... More

This is a real bed & breakfast. The owner grew up in this house and converted it to a B&B. as with any 100 yo house it is a work in progress, so things aren't perfect. But the bedrooms are beautiful, beds comfy, and living room spacious and welcoming with a cozy fire. The night we arrived they were making... More
